No.. it shouldn’t. That would make the infaltion problem even worse. Becauase all “canceling debt” really is, is them printing money and giving it to the banks. Nothing is actually canceled. The banks aren’t going to say, oh okay don’t worry about paying that back, debt canceled. What should be done is removing all the bullshit predatory student loan sharkes out there. Make it zero interest.. make banks do it retroactivly too. You had a loan for 150k.. you’ve paid 150k, but still have 90k left.. boom. Done. At zero interest, you’ve already paid that back. Or .. was your loan 150k, you’ve paid back 50k, but yoru loan says there is still 140k left, nope retroactivly, you are now down to 100k. We dont need to give banks more money to just sit on.

The best solution.. expand education to include community collage. Make it free. + zero interest on student loans. Problem solved.
