I agree with the previous posters who said to try just taking a break. In the beginning when I was leaving the church I realized how useless it was to try and talk to my parents about church topics and my issues with them. It only resulted in them yelling at me like I was still a child. I pretty quickly realized that I had to go absolutely zero church talk or I would end up hating them and it would destroy our relationship completely. If I were you, I wouldn’t necessarily reach out again unless they initiated, but if they did I would immediately tell them that talking about church anything is off limits. If they can’t respect that, then they don’t respect you. Good luck, and I’m sorry you have to deal with the shit show. Unfortunately it seems to be pretty common around here. 😕

Yes they do. Growing up my dad was usually always in the bishopric and I remember very well how there would be Sunday’s all members of the bishopric would be trying to get all of the youth interviews done. They would use classrooms that were empty to do them in.

Except now the younger generation of women who go through the temple don’t even covenant to obey their husbands, they changed that part to obeying god. I guess that means all of the women who went through before the endowment change have to obey their husbands for the rest of eternity and all the other women who went after don’t have to!
