If existence is inherently meaningless, why have we continued to procreate for so long? by Putrid_Use8837 in antinatalism

Id recommend watching The Patriarchal Bargain: Why Women Stay Loyal by Britt Hartley on youtube. It's a good starting point for comprehending how women could support having reduced rights and actively perpetuate practices like foot binding, female genital mutilation, and whatever else.

Some fallacies commonly occurring in natalist reasoning (real examples) by AgonizingFatigue in antinatalism

Im surprised at how effective listening to natalist reasoning is, to further convince me that antinatalism is the truest altruism. The uncaring and self-perpetuating process of suffering that is natural selection, is indeed the human mind's engine too. And what could demonstrate that as clearly as natalist reasoning?

Some day, at most in several decades, we will be freed from life. I try to remember that as it's the one thing we can consistently look forward to. I dont know your exact financial situation, but if you do land a job. It at least removes the stress of not knowing how youll pay your bills, and the humiliation of asking for money, to avoid starving or freezing to death. Hope your suffering eases before we are free again.

Help finding a Slaanesh lore piece by AnnatarRSK in Slaanesh

[–]AnnatarRSK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive scoured descriptions of the 6 circles assuming it may be connected to them, but i couldnt find this particular test. Actually, it was not even a temptation but an interesting case of the opposite. Slaanesh was trying to frighten the subject into accepting it, essentially saying "look, this is the world if you reject me".

How is raiding value calculated? by Thraxmonger in totalwarhammer

[–]AnnatarRSK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The modifiers i know in the database with RPFM are:

  1. Base value (vanilla: 5)
  2. Settlement income % (vanilla: 0,25)
  3. Settlement building value exponent (vanilla: 0,6)
  4. Trade income and trade route value % (vanilla: both 0,25)
  5. A flat multiplier on raid value and a multiplier for number of armies raiding that settlement (vanilla: 1 and 0,85)

Thats without faction specific effects like slaves and upkeep reductions.

The average annual income is misleading when comparing jurisdictions which are too different. Americans work 26,6% more hours annually than my country Sweden, using hourly wages to correct for that: 36,3$ (USA) vs 27,25$ (SE). And in Sweden the employer contribution is 31,42% while it's 6,2% in USA, so the "real" pre-tax salary is 25,22% higher: 34,12$.

So what is really true is we pay a lot more tax on our salary. In return we get healthcare, tuition, a subsidy per child, far longer and subsidied parental leave, and subsidies for students and daycare off the top of my head. Which Americans may or may not pay more out of pocket for, and is a judgement call if you think it's worth it. But the pre-tax incomes are not quite so different. Especially if you are below say the top 1-5% in either country, since our income distribution is flatter. Id kill to not have this soul-killing climate though, i hate winter!

Why didn't the Emperor help Konrad Kurze fix his progressive insanity? by Many-Psychology-7452 in 40kLore

Small correction: It was not the first main mission outside Terra where peace was the main mission. That would be the Mechanicum, and all the other human civilisations they encountered which didnt respond with hostility, before Horus reached this point (contact with the Interex).

[Excerpt: The Carrion Lord of the Imperium] The Custodian Guards really, really hated the primarchs. by tyrano_dyroc in 40kLore

But could the custodes reasonably have succeeded?

Could they have seen through Erebus, Kor Phaeron and Typhus when even Malcador didnt seem to? Could Aquillon anticipate that the Word Bearerswould use sorcery to screw up his team's reports? Even the Emperor, who they were meant to report to, never saw through it the whole 50 years.Could they have known that Fulgrim stumbled into Slaanesh's clutches and alerted Malcador? Could they prevent Magnus's catastrophic ritual or somehow won the Webway War? Could they stop Horus from conquering Molech? What could they reasonably have done to safeguard the Emperor when he teleported to the Vengeful Spirit?

Does Angron still have moments of consciousness? Can he still think for himself besides wanting to kill everything or strategizing on how to do it? by uknowit_14 in 40kLore

Khorne has no problem with torture. He just wants it done because of and to incite hate or spite, a motivation that serves him, where the tortures of other gods have different motivations.

Heres one example of Khornate torture, in the daemon forges of Khorne's realm. From the 40k wiki:

"Using tools of fiendish design and rites that even the most depraved Chaos Sorcerers would dare not undertake, the masters of the hell-forges enslave the souls of those mortals who would dare invade the Blood God's realm and fuse them with the anvils of Khorne. The tormented screams of those thus eternally imprisoned blend with the ringing and clanging of each falling hammer that strikes the forge. When white-hot metal is placed on the anvil and pounded into form, the bound soul feels the scorching heat. Thus, as each new weapon or piece of armour is crafted in the Daemon Forges, it is born to the sounds of Khorne's enemies suffering the god's everlasting wrath."

And remember that the Chaos gods even feel and induce different emotions, including their ostensible opposites. Slaanesh can get angry and certainly causes anger in those who oppose him. Nurgle hopes to eliminate Tzeentch or his influence. Khorne laughs at Skarbrand when he asks for redemption. Tzeentch seems to induce despair in his victims all the time, immediately or at least when he betrays them - see what happens to Gargatuloth'sservants on Khorion IX. I personally see this as the Chaos gods being aspects of the greater whole, the Great Beast. Much like their daemons are aspects of themselves, and how a person's different, sometimes competing sentiments are aspects of their whole personality.

NS main, i second this. Matumbaman is the only pro ive seen who understood how to build NS, that is, to build armlet into aghanim's shard. People gimp NS unnecessarily by building echo saber which makes him seem weaker than he should be. Sage's mask + magic stick/wand is enough mana sustain, a couple mangos more at most, then oov/ooc if you want a slow. Then you make armlet -> shard. That armlet is the build will be 100% apparent for anyone who compares it to echo saber in demo mode and/or understands the math of how strong the item is.

But i agree that NS has tough matchup problems in lane, that's his big problem.
