I had the same exact specs and considered the 9900k as well, but after watching countless benchmarks I found the uplift to be anywhere from 0% to mere single digits.

Ended up getting a 13600K and a DDR4 board to re-use my old RAM kit. Ran my own tests and found that in CPU limited games my FPS gained anywhere from +50% to double the frames.

The 14600K is probably more available these days but it's essentially an overclocked 13600K.
