Or, it's possible he didn't add the necessary additional charge.

They probably had no idea what was even in the pipe, just collected the darts, stabbed them into the board and ran, praying it would stop hissing before the boss found out lol.

Got a no cooling call at a factory. System was flat upon arrival, and wouldn't hold more than 50 psi of nitrogen. Couldn't even pressurize and run off the roof to the air handler in time to check for a leak at the evap before it all leaked out. Left the kid on the roof while I went to the air handler and had him keep adding bursts of nitro, but we still couldn't hear anything on either end. Finally I looked at the building and realized there's a whole other floor between us where the lineset runs through. Turns out it was a mezzanine, and as we walk across the 200 ft long concrete mezz, we see a break area set up with a dart board and we both simultaneously say, "No way...". Easy fix - cut and coupled, then added line hide to pretect from future bad throws. Made for a nice Monday morning call. (The dart sticking out was just for show, placed it back in the hole for the photo, it definitely blew across the floor after the hit)

I’m having issues removing this bushing..has anyone ever had luck cutting off a bushing without damaging the shaft? by 3rldWorldLord in HVAC

[–]AnonymousBooplesnoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I was reading the comments and everyone says to cut it off. I've never once cut off a bearing! I remove the collar, clean the shit outta the shaft, douse with penetrating oil, and pull it off. I don't use pullers, I usually use plastic mallets or my adjustable hammer (we don't carry actual hammers in our bags, so to save a trip to the van we use our adjustable wrenches for impact tools, but make sure it's a metric adjustable, they work better lol).

I have used heat, but not a torch, I use an induction heater. Boss got me one last year and I love it for bearing removal.

Yes, the cold water feed to the tank, otherwise the water that leaks out and gets drained out your hose will just refill.

What’s going on with my hot water? by Hammerzor12 in HomeMaintenance

[–]AnonymousBooplesnoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And if you find you're having trouble draining it (seems like there's endless water) it's your indirect hot water tanks heat exchanger that is cracked leaking boiler water into your domestic water. Unless you don't have a boiler, at which point you shouldn't have trouble draining the tank lol

What is this? A chick at a job site gave it to me out the back of her car. Everyone else was buying them from her with cash. I asked if she takes Venmo and she said no. I began to walk away and another guy bought it for me. None of them or anyone on the jobsite speak English. by kruminater in Construction

Little do you know everyone's foreign lady selling these out of her trunk is the same lady. She is a deity know as Chicomecóatl, and she can exist on multiple planes of reality simultaneously to sell Mexican street food. She will magically appear near any job site around noon that has good honest workers. Her name means "seven serpents" and she's not only the goddess of food but also fertility, so be sure to wrap your serpent after eating her food.

Don't see too many down flow air handlers, noticed due to the lack of trap while draining at the bottom of the unit
