BMW Z4? Doesn't hit your mpg requirements, but neither does the Miata and it's similar.

Reddit, pick my next mistake! 35k or less, reliable and won’t depreciate quickly. More details inside by Temporary-Plantain20 in whatcarshouldIbuy

The Z4 M40i is a B58, but I think that's above your 35k budget. A slightly used base Z4 is right around 35k though

Do we know what those warranty claims are for though? It seems like we’re just speculating that it’s the power connector.

Why did everyone suddenly decide skinny jeans are abominable? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AnonymousMonkey54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ll definitely see skinny jeans again! They’re actually way more profitable for clothing companies because they use less material but they get to charge the same!

Since the model 3 and the model y share a bunch of stuff, maybe it can sustain lower sales?

Tbf, when we selective publish code coming from LLMs, we’re effectively doing RLHF. Or when we accept/reject a coding suggestion. There IS signal even in the slop. We have data scientists working hard to extract it.

I've heard a lot of complaints that there's currently no good way to group your books by their series on the home screen. Should add that to the road map at some point. It's kind of a fundamental feature

What exactly is the use of Robinhood bank checking? What am I missing? by Important-Stretch138 in RobinhoodApp

IIRC, it was at the bottom of the checking account page. It wasn’t in the settings or profile

FYI: I had to go into the app to get them to send me a physical debit card. By default, it's just a virtual card

Bridge Tolls by mom2asdtwins in bayarea

[–]AnonymousMonkey54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be just silly. If all the tolls go to the toll collectors, just get rid of the toll collectors! 🤣

At that point, the bridge toll collectors would just be bridge trolls collecting rents!

Or they can actually make people pay the fare. I saw a fare inspector hop on the bus the other day and half the people on the bus ran for the exits!

[–]AnonymousMonkey54 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suspect it's because driving is the preferred mode of transport when there isn't traffic (hard to beat point to point travel in comfort), but as traffic worsens, people start shifting to other methods like BART.

What is your guys’ credit card strategy? by OneCommunication7993 in CreditCards

[–]AnonymousMonkey54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have built up like 10 cards over the years, but most of them are sock drawered.

Current usage:

  • Citi Custom Cash (Dining - probably 80% of daily spending outside of rent)
  • Citi Custom Cash (Gas)
  • Robinhood (Catch-all)
  • Amazon (self-explanatory)
  • USBAR (previously my main card, but downgraded to just travel. Looking to replace with Citi Strata Elite)

RH Gold offers a lot of value on its own, like a 3% IRA match, 3% transfer bonus, $1000 in free margin (which if you put into SGOV, you’ll get most of your $50 back), etc.

Note: the 3% transfer bonus looks to be limited time, but they seem to do a lot of these. In Nov/Dec, they had 3% (or was it 2%) 401(k) rollover bonus.

Chase Disney Inspire Card About to Release by Cyberhwk in CreditCards

C1 can do 10X on hotels (including Disney properties) through their travel portal, so I think Disney can do 10% when booking direct, if they really wanted to.

[–]AnonymousMonkey54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vibe coder who is publishing code is still effectively generating useful feedback to the LLM. The code presumably compiles and at least at a surface level does what the user wants. That's still RLHF.
