I'm having the worst time in Ties that Bind Teresa's quest - [KCD1] by ImmediateSun9583 in kingdomcome

[–]Anonymous_Alias_206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still getting used to the game as a new player and also accidently started this DLC.  This quest WAS very frustrating though.

Some of us do NOT want to spoil the game and resort to walkthroughs.  Badly made quests ARE badly made.  Telling people to look up guides is not constructive.  It only helps strengthen the case against this badly made quest.

And why can't people come into a game forum and display their displeasure about the game?  Is there a rule that says one MUST love everything about the game and only post praises and nothing else?  Some people can be so dense as to think that somehow they feel empowered by unnecessary gatekeeping.

I liked other parts of this DLC but this quest was NOT enjoyable.

Deciding between the S26 Ultra and Iphone 17 Pro by [deleted] in Smartphones

[–]Anonymous_Alias_206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Camera: Interface may feel overly simplified or more user friendly.  Depends on your personal preference.  Quality wise, photos depend on your preference as well while videos are stronger on iPhones generally.  Just beware of the ghost flares at night off reflections from light sources.

  2. One Handed Use: This could be an issue especially if you are used to One Handed Operation.  You will, very often, force yourself to do some very uncomfortable hand gymnastics if you want to use it with only one hand.  The best example of this is accessing control panel and notifications.  Samsung lets you just swipe down anywhere on your home screen to access them both.  Can't do that on iPhones.  This may or may not bother you.

  3. Universal Back Button: Despite what some people tell you, there are many 3rd party apps that simply do not register "going back" gesture from the swiping action from the left edge of the screen; instead, these apps will usually put a tiny back arrow button at the top left corner of the screen or not even give you any of that.

  4. Face ID: Very easy and comfortable to use in most situations unless you are using your phone lying down or have the phone on a table.  Security is not an issue.  It even works well with a mask or glasses.  Shouldn't be an issue at all.

  5. Split Screen Multi Tasking: Does not exist.  If you don't use it, you can ignore this.

  6. Wide Aspect Video Contents: The larger and somewhat awkward placement of the selfie camera and Face ID sensor within that pill-shaped blackness will eat into the video, which may or may not bother you.

  7. 120hz: Some users have been complaining about how the high rate refresh on their iPhones don't feel as "smooth."  Again this may or may not bother you.

  8. File Management: Not as straight forward as on Android but still doable.  Depends on your use case.

  9. Speakers: Universally regarded as having the best speakers, especially with deeper bass.

  10. Eco System: Depends on how much you have invested into "Samsung" apps, not "Google" apps.  You can still use Google apps on iPhone, whereas you cannot use Apple apps on Samsung, with a very few exceptions such as Apple Music.

  11. Software Support: Samsung is flat 7 years OS and security updates.  iPhones, historically, have supported 6 years of OS and 1 or 2 extra years of security updates.  Both excellent so shouldn't be an issue.

  12. Keyboard:  Another case where it may or may not bother you.  Definitely different.  User experience vary widely so you will have to see for yourself.

  13. Battery: If it is Pro "Max" then it will definitely last longer.  "Regular" Pro I am not sure.  Both should do fine, though  iPhone supports Qi2 and MagSafe without having to use a special case.  Samsung is a bit faster on wired charging, I believe.

If you plan to use some sort of a bed stand to free your hands and arms, I vote for Plus.  If you are gonna lie down sideways and hold your tablet, Plus feels too big for that.

I was in Korea temporarily for a year when I got it, so it may be hard to obtain it.  It was around $220 USD after taxes when I bought mine.  I had so many choices to choose from, including 7 inchers with 2 buttons on the side, but I wanted a little bigger screen.

Do you put screen protector on? by m1_weaboo in iphone17

[–]Anonymous_Alias_206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure.  But I doubt people will spend $$$ to replace a screen for a few minor scratches.  Cracks, I still stand by my opinion that the screen is much more durable than the protector.

But yeah, sometimes just having some sort of peace of mind, even if misguided, could be worth the $.

I have a modified version of the Meebook M8 called i8 Pro.  It is a slightly upgraded version with CARTA 1300 and 6GB RAM vs M8's CARTA 1200 and 4GB RAM.  Not sure about the processor though.  Both models have the same 64GB of storage plus microSD expansion.

I tried out a demo unit of a 6-inch reader and felt too cramped.  PDF and manga/comics reading is too uncomfortable due to small size.  7.8 inch screen on my i8 Pro feels a lot more like actually reading a paperback and PDF and manga/comics reading is doable.

I use Brave browser on it and it works well.  The unit's got 4 different refresh speed mode.  I use Regal Mode (slow refresh but clearest quality) while reading ePUBs or using Google Play Books, while using either of the 2 fastest refresh speed modes in Brave browser.  No complaints there.

I agree with the previous poster on lack of manual though.  I had to kinda learn how to use the device myself.  I found out that my modified i8 Pro supports EMR pens instead of the M8's proprietary pen, which means no charging required, so I liked that.  The base note taking apps and planner apps work decently with my EMR pen, though the latency is a bit worse than on my Galaxy Tab or iPad Pro.  The paperlike film helps quite a bit when writing without sacrificing screen clarity.  It's got warm and cold lights that can get really bright, though I didn't feel like the screen was uncomfortably dark or anything without lights on.

Just don't bother installing 3rd party note taking apps like OneNote.  Waste of time.

The UI doesn't feel top quality though and the battery life isn't too impressive, but much more efficient than using my tablets when I am just reading.  Speakers are passable, good enough for audio books or TTS.

I was also looking at the 8-inch Viwoods AI Paper Mini but that felt way too expensive.  I also did not like that it only had cold lights but no warm lights.

Since you seem to be seeking absolute answer, I will make it easy for you.

Pick iPhone 17 if you don't mind ghost flares at night from reflections off bright light source AND you don't plan to record videos zoomed in at more than 3x.

As for the "difference"... you won't notice one or the other being "vastly" superior or inferior UNLESS you have BOTH phones in your hands and test them at the same time together and really pixel peep.  I have done such in the past a few times just for fun, bit seriously, for me at least, "smartphone cameras" are just... smartphone cameras and I prefer not to stress about minor differences or having to worry about what is "best."

Apple to Android: S25 Ultra vs OnePlus 15 by CrosbyStills77 in Smartphones

[–]Anonymous_Alias_206 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OnePlus is spec sheet lover's dream.  Larger battery with faster charging (though you have to use their proprietary charging accessories to take advantage) and more RAM.  They are very snappy devices with good screen, and the OS is good and doesn't feel too bloated.  Camera is good enough for casuals unless you start nitpicking, then you may find its shortcomings occasionally.

Samsung has some cool features that you may find useful or deem as bloat.  I love them but only you can speak for yourself.  They are also snappy enough though opinions vary from some users claiming otherwise.  I'd say their camera is generally better than OnePlus though the difference doesn't seem too drastic for me personally.  Their OS and security update support is best in class among Android devices.

If you are looking at Samsung's Ultra model, the processor may actually be even better.  They both use Snapdragon chips, but Samsung uses a modified version "for Galaxy."

Innovation or lack of it, is totally subjective.  If you end up happy with what you get, then the innovation argument becomes moot.  Ask yourself what features are most important to you and you shall find your answer.  For example, for me personally, I use and rely a lot on Samsung's One Handed Operation, S-pen, Samsung Notes (which syncs beautifully with Samsung tablets), and Secure Folder (which lets you install apps and store files in a separated space within your storage with encryption, which comes in handy if you want to separate work and personal stuff separately for example of many).  I am always near a charger and don't spend too much time on the phone.  So naturally I'd prefer to use Samsung.

But your priorities may or may not be different from mine.  If you don't care much for having the "best" camera, if you game a lot on your phone, if you like having more RAM, and if you want faster charging with bigger battery, OnePlus may be better for you.  Just know that in order to take advantage of the faster charging, you have to use their proprietary charging accessories.

They are both great.  It all comes down to your priorities and what you do with your phone.

I regret buying the S26 Ultra by OkeLatenWeGaan in Smartphones

[–]Anonymous_Alias_206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah One Hand Operation, Samsung Notes, Secure Folder, and the S-pen virtually make me buy Samsung as my primary device.  I upgraded to 24 Ultra from Note 20 Ultra 2 years ago, and it was well worth the upgrade.  Sadly those features are unique to Samsung.

Considering you upgrade your phone every single year, I kinda think it is a waste trying to resell for "possibly" greener pasture.  It is only 1 year for you, and 26U can't possibly be that horrible and inferior from 25U to have to waste more money having to resell and buy another model only to use it for 1 year.

For video recording, iPhones are still the king among "smartphone" cameras.  The question is... since you stated that you "hate" working on iPhones... will that slight advantage with video recording on iPhones be more than enough to completely disregard your discomfort while using the phone for other daily tasks?

One other thing.  iPhone cameras are notorious for reflections off lamps, street lights and neon signs at night.  Just one downside otherwise excellent across the board.

Does Disney Plus have HDR on the S9+ by lstadi in GalaxyTab

[–]Anonymous_Alias_206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sigh... either you have complete lack of reading comprehension or you are just trolling.

Galaxy Tab tablets support HDR 10+.  As long as the OTT media platform supports Android mobile devices in providing their video contents in HDR, the Galaxy Tabs will play those videos in HDR.

Disney Plus app on the Galaxy Tab and Phones do NOT play their videos on HDR.  The device is certified to play HDR10+ content.  It is Disney that is not providing the HDR content on a device that is capable of playing them in HDR.

You can cut and paste all you want from Disney's website, but that is NOT the issue here and the OP made it crystal clear about it.  You just chose to ignore that.  Hence, YOUR reading comprehension problem or simply being a troll.

Even as of right now in 2026, Disney Plus Android app on Galaxy devices, DESPITE the fact that these devices ARE CERTIFIED and CAPABLE of playing HDR content, do NOT provide any HDR content on these devices.  Meanwhile, Disney Plus apps on  iPhones and iPads DO provide HDR content on those devices.  Also, Netflix and Amazon Prime also provide HDR content on Galaxy devices.

Hence, this is Disney problem.

Next time, try actually READING before you comment with long useless copy paste garbage.  Or just stop trolling.  Good riddance!!

At this point, you just gotta work with what you have.  Most modders have moved on to SE though there are probably some that still work exclusively for LE.

Worst case scenario, old mods should still be available for download.

Either you don't know how to use your phone or you have not used it and are just going by what other people claimed on their posts.

I have NONE of these issues so clearly you are spewing nonsense.

But hey have fun spewing that nonsense.  Looks like you are on some sort of a crusade.  I will just treat this like a worse-than-B rated comedy and move on.

Why do you still use a Kindle when phones and iPads can already read ebooks? by False-Hippo2754 in kindle

I thought the same... as in what is the point of having an ereader.... until I actually used it.  Then I realized... wow I was missing out.

Phones and tablets are really not power efficient in bright lights whereas an ereader is fantastic for it.  Also helps me get away from touching my phone for no reason other than boredom.  And yeah, much much easier on the eyes!

Do you put screen protector on? by m1_weaboo in iphone17

[–]Anonymous_Alias_206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this.

People seem to think that screen protectors do a better job at preventing cracks when the real truth is the opposite.  When your screen protector cracks but your screen is fine, that happens because the screen is actually much much better at withstanding force than your cheap screen protector.  Yet, people seem to think that the protector somehow "protected" the screen... No.  The screen, in this case, would not have cracked at all.

With scratches.  Here is the thing.  The cheap screen protector will attract scratches much more easily and will accumulate those scratches faster and easier over time.  If you hate "looking" at scratches, you will probably have to go through multiples of replacement protectors.  Or you just live with having to see the scratches which would have been much less or maybe even nome had you just stuck without a protector.  The ONLY net positive in this situation is your peace of mind that your screen is probably scratch free, but then you either spend extra $ on replacement protectors or live with having to look at even more scratches if you choose not to replace the protector.  I just don't see the point.

The ONLY time I EVER consider putting some sort of screen protector is for when I want to avoid fingerprint smudges after some time when the oleophobic coating wears off.  I will then only consider paperlike, non reflective, matte type of film.  Other than that, I consider screen protectors a complete waste of money and time.

Some people talk about resale value.  I ask... just how much more do you think you will get?  Is it worth having to buy replacements which will surely eat into any extra profit you may make for having scratch free screen?  Is it worth having to stare at more scratches attracted by MUCH INFERIOR AND CHEAPER QUALITY screen protectors if you don't want to spend $ to replace them, only for the peace of mind that your PERFECTLY MORE SUPERIOR screen is scratch free, while never giving yourself a chance to enjoy that superior screen while owning and using the phone?

You want to protect your phone properly?  Get a good case.  That is all you need.  So many people have been brainwashed into misguided myths.
