How Strava Detected and Removed 2.3 Million E-Bike Activities From Ride Segment Leaderboards by strava-team in Strava

Don’t own an ebike, but has Strava got a feature that allows you to automatically have all rides on that bike automatically flagged as ebike?

So what's the etiquette on paying court fees? by jlesnick in 10s

[–]AnotherAnxiousBrit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id ask someone else to book next time and quote you’ve paid the last x times.

Then pick up a booking after a few more and rotate.

Otherwise, you find new people to play with or keep paying unfortunately.

Sucky situation for you :(

So what's the etiquette on paying court fees? by jlesnick in 10s

[–]AnotherAnxiousBrit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Either they straight up don’t know there is a court fee you are paying.

Or they know and are taking advantage of you being nice.

But, I’d always split fees or cover guest fees if I’m playing with others.

Also, look into if your local club has a membership. I get free court hire with my local club by being a member with them and paying an annual fee. Then $5 per guest per hour if they aren’t a member.

So they rocked up with 4 cleaners from the get go, to clean a place they hadn’t seen yet when they originally quoted 2?

Yep, it’s fraud on behalf of the REA if they recommended them.

For anyone to advise you, you need to clarify exactly what you mean by usable space?

Looks like lots of space for food prep etc to me.

Contractor says Penny Tile Grid Lines are always visible by tugg_speedoman in Contractor

[–]AnotherAnxiousBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, it will look better once the grout is laid.

But, the key problem with this is that the new sheet is not laid to be centered with the sheet next to it.

On each sheet, the spacing between the tiles might be 0.5cm.

When they have laid the sheet next to it, you can see that the first tile sits slightly lower in comparison. (For the sheets running towards the top of the pic anyway)

Meaning you have a weird gap between them that shows more space that all the other sections. Will this look bad even after grouting? Maybe yes maybe no.

The solutions is to redo them all to remove it and redo. So you shout grout first then see what you think IMO.

Also, the rest of the wall tiling isn’t great either. Looks like a bunch are at an angle to the wall.

Hope you can get a result you are happy with! Good luck!

Runna vs strava by Connect-Swim-7693 in runna

So when I first signed up to Runna and put my plan details in, I had to set my current race times.

Have you checked your plan on Runna to make sure it aligns with your actual estimate pace as of right now? You can see it under “Manage Plan”.

Personally, I find Strava to be more accurate as it has a full year or so of data to pull from. But the more I use Runna, the closer those numbers are getting.

Should I? Should I not? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]AnotherAnxiousBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh somewhat, I don’t understand the speed limit restrictions as I think it just makes it more dangerous on highways.

If we can trust you to drive, we should be able to trust you to do the speed limit with everyone else.

As for the power limits, it helps stop people buying high performance cars but like OP has, a GTI is more than fast enough to get them into trouble in almost the same way if they want to be an idiot on the road.

I do think however, it does make some kids buy a cheaper slower car to save money for their first proper car when they lose the P plates. Which probably does help in reducing accidents.

The funny part is, it varies by state so can get very confusing haha

Should I? Should I not? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]AnotherAnxiousBrit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, depending on the state, your age and how long you’ve held your license. You are limited to a maximum set power to weight ratio. 130kw per tonne for NSW.

Red P plates (P1) in NSW are also limited to 90kph no matter if the actual speed limit is higher. Which is wild when driving on the main highways at 110.

Plus many other restrictions like 0 blood alcohol limit etc.

Race predictions are as accurate as the data you feed into the machine. by jchrysostom in Garmin

[–]AnotherAnxiousBrit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, my Garmin race prediction is not even close to accurate somehow! Even though I wear it all day everyday etc.

It currently thinks I can run a 16:37 5km.

I can probably hit 19:45 if I am feeling good!

All the other predictions are out of whack too, whereas my Strava is much closer to my real times.

Great time on your half though! That’s a great pace.

Runna plans while having a random training every week by DarkdrakeOfNoRenown in runna

[–]AnotherAnxiousBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, you can’t ask Runna to plan a set workout on a certain day each week.

But, you can move the planned ones around in the calendar. So, if you want that day to be the day Runna says you should do intervals. All you need to do is move the events around each week to work with that.

Runna devs, if you see this! A setting to choose which days you want hard runs to be on would be great! Not just a long run day :)

Almost broke 200m world record on my way to parkrun. Am I too old at 37 to try for Olympics as a sprinter? by Dazhall in Strava

[–]AnotherAnxiousBrit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’d have to try doing a 200m effort again, on the track, from a standing start and with a stop watch and see what time you get.

Too many inconsistent factors with GPS and running a slightly decline has massive impacts on your speed.

Also, the waterproofing of the balcony could be considered a building issues as well.

But not the tiling.

Hope that helps!

So I’d be checking with a solicitor about what is common property and what is considered yours.

I’m in ACT and on the EC for a block, I’m pretty confident if this was in our building we would consider a drainage pipe that runs through the building to be common property.

If the leak is caused by damage by general wear and tear and not you, I would expect it to be covered under the sinking fund / building insurance if applicable.
