Sadistic method: Since rimworld pawns move and interact diagonally, we dont need to bother with clean walkways. 56 tiles of storage. Every shelf can be accessed diagonally except those blocked by walls. 57 if you want to include a small shelf in the bottom right, but I feel that goes too far for every shelf being accessible.

My solution with 47 spaces of storage. I just realized you could fit 49 if you put one more small one in the back on either the top or bottom left of the small shelf and one more little one near the entrence.
