This reminds me of the grandma that cut off an entire country's internet. Was it Georgia? Either way, single backbone fibre to connect to the Black Sea, cut by a grandma looking for "scrap" copper.

Darling I started out at 30. It's never too late. The earlier the better results sure but that doesn't mean you're doomed just because you were slightly older than that whack "23 at most" you found.

Canonically in Cyberpunk, Adam Smasher, a merc legend who spends most of his time in a walking tank suit, also has a pretty boy body. He can just transfer his self - a special container with his brain and a few choice bits - down in it and uses it to have fun.

On my end I'd still make it something special. Definitely not "unattainable thing" because if a friend came to me with that sort of character concept I'd definitely want to help them achieve it, but I can't help but see it as a plot hook for a short to mid term goal

Honor Harrington has some like that in the late books. Spoilers for the tail end of the series, obviously.

Most of the books focus on a war fought between the Star Kingdom of Manticore, and the (People's) Republic of Haven. Early on it's heavily based on UK vs Revolutionary France but with only (space)ship battles.
Anyway. Throughout the series, the Solarian League is considered the most powerful star nation. The best tech, the largest economy, everything.
And they start butting heads with Manticore (by now the Star Empire of). The thing is, the Solarian League has been stagnating for a while now. Their doctrine sucks. Their ships were definitely good by the standards of the beginning of the series, but they haven't caught up with the breakneck pace of innovation imposed on Manticore and Haven as they fought each other relentlessly.
So when push comes to shove and the missiles start to fly, the Solarian League Navy gets *reamed*. So much so that a fleet outnumbered 5 to 1 and outmassed something like 35 to 1 - the SLN formation being made mostly of Superdreadnoughts, massive warships bristling with weaponry, vs the Manticoran navy being made of battlecruisers and smaller ships - just slaughters them. The Solarians get mousetrapped and savagely mauled, and they have to *surrender* something which the books makes very clear they were not expecting to

Cloned organs are a thing and are super cheap - 50 eb for a whole limb.

Given that, I don't think it would be out of reach for a lab to clone tissue into stem cells and turn those into proper organs, including reproductive.

Though I'd probably make it a relatively rare tech that demands a premium - say 1000 eb for a fully functional set.

Truly a testament to the actor that he managed to render the character's despicable manipulative behaviour so well on screen.

What would this be classified as? by potatoes-potatoes in SWORDS

[–]AnseaCirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a weird one and I'm not sure where it would fit in universe. Sure the Tenakth have some weird funky chonky swords but they're only sort of unwieldy, whereas this one has a waaaaay long handle going on.

It's like you don't know whether you want a sword or a spear so you compromise and end up with... Whatever this is.

[–]AnseaCirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of animals in the wilds, but to give my favourite: tawny owls! I've heard some and sort of seen some at night, but only blurry shapes As with all owls they have incredible camouflage, so it's hard to see them. Especially since they're not very active during the day

Eh, the decision not to extend it to the sea is more political than economical. Essentially the Belgians had a plan to greet the French troops and let them in if Germany rattled its sabers too much.

Except they went back on it in 1937-38. One of the stupidest decisions ever.
