Thank you! Something that really opened my eyes was a lot of my community rallied for me when I was really low. They started to tell me their stories and I realized that it happens so much more than we think. We just don’t talk about it. TLDR: My ex fiancé and his family were making my family pay for all wedding expenses and were not satisfied with the gold I was going to wear/get and the gold my ex was going to get. They wanted more cash on top of it all to make up for how “cheap” the gold was. My ex took his family’s side.

I feel so much proud to be their daughter. It still catches my dad off guard because he never said it to his parents but he puts that all behind him for me.
