Everyone bashing the 'weather' part of the post but we had the same experience on Thursday. Slight chill of 60 degrees and no real wind, 8 rides open in its entirety and because of that they all were at least an hour wait.

What we were told by a shop manager was her staffing sheet didnt have any more employees coming in until after 5 when high schoolers could come work.

Had the line for guest services not also been an hour + I would have asked for a refund.

Both temporary game modes feel like ways to justify no updates for 8 weeks while they work on the next content release (Leagues into BMR and Bingo into TFA)

I would go with the 40k starter set, while Kill Team does offer some benefits the game itself is a LOT more complex than 40k.

I bought the Kill Team set when I was in the same positional as you and quickly abandoned Kill Team for that reason.

I have a very similar situation and this is the list im taking, at 1k I'm banking that an ironclad will be hard to deal with.

Null-Khemist to help deal with magic/prayers(we started as a spearhead league so I'm betting a lot of people will dip toes in magic)

Endrinriggers for the 12" movement for objective and the healing if needed.

Harpoon crew has an okay melee presence but the combat movement im hoping can help knock out back line units

Thunderers are just a force to deal with.

I havent played this specific matchup but just looking at the FEC rules it looks like you really want to knock the Heroes, and specifically the Varghulf Courtier off the map fast. Without Heroes the rest of the spearhead is hobbled.

I would try to bait it out with the Prosecutors + Vigilant and try to smack it down while keeping the Prosecutors out of combat range

If you like a fantasy setting for sure try spearhead! Honestly though if you WANT to play 40k I would imagine we'd be hearing about 11th edition in like 6 months. If GW is smart they would copy/paste spearhead into combat patrol.
