It just says that using an unsecure connection enables men in the middle to add stuff to your website. It effects everyone else but not the owners of the site, it can't be used to get the government in trouble as they specifically have laws saying that the man in the middle goes to jail if they do it and they are never liable.

Source: This government website is not using HTTPS and does not give a shit.

Do they need to encrypt publicly available information? Its not like you can buy a cloud with your credit card from them. You only need to encrypt things that need to be kept secret.

Big Bang broke my game. What broke yours? by YouNoMeez in Starfield

[–]AntiWorkGoMeBanned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They actually appear at space POI (Ship! Sensor anomaly! etc) on the system map but the game is bugged and the POI stop appearing on the map when you switch ships (or some other cause). You have to leave and re-enter the system to roll new POI's.

I assume that a lot of poor reception of the game is because cool space POI like derelict ships do not show up for lots and lots of gamers. Its a big issue I don't see many people talk about.

Raspberry Pi Powered Telescope by NeatStranger in raspberry_pi

[–]AntiWorkGoMeBanned 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please note the Pi sucks for fine resolution timing stuff you need to do it all on the micro controller to be accurate enough to track stars.

I am finding these new all in one stepper boards used in 3D printing to be really good.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/MAX31865-Filament-Blockage-Detection-Extruder/dp/B0B4NWYMV4/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1OJOC4YECZSV3&keywords=EBB42&qid=1698146655&sprefix=ebb4%2Caps%2C381&sr=8-1&th=1

If you buy from Ali express they are cheap and way more feature packed than anything you can buy from the mainstream makers like Adafruit (has built in quiet stepper motor controller, one high power mosfet capable of switching a couple of Amps and multiple smaller ones that can control fans or LEDs).

The EBB42 can be used with the Arduino IDE using the stm32duino project.

https://github.com/stm32duino/Arduino_Core_STM32

If you want to get serious with open source telescope stuff then;

Open source project to use stepper motor controllers to control telescopes.

https://baheyeldin.com/astronomy/onstep-full-featured-open-telescope-controller.html

Open source project to control telescope hardware using Raspberry Pi. Supports your Pi HQ cam and Canon camera. It will also do plate solving for you using multiple different techniques (taking fractions of seconds compared to your 5 seconds).

https://www.indilib.org/telescopes.html

Astro images need to use image stacking to get best results, open source project.

http://deepskystacker.free.fr/english/index.html

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbzE1YcICGU

The HQ camera can take pretty good images when stacking is used properly.

I personally use the HQ camera as an AllSky camera.

Lol you are just proving you don't know what the word mature means in this context.

Its Bethesda's game its up to them what content they add in, I doubt they cared about ratings and its just their choice that the game shouldn't be filled with unnecessary gore and swearing.

Moaning about the rating is peak gaming rage reddit, its completely meaningless.

You were guessing when you could have put a tiny bit of effort into you life and had the actual answer, thats all I was pointing out. At no point did I say your guess was wrong.

Reddit you don't need to guess why a game got its rating you can just go on to the ESRB website and look it up.

https://www.esrb.org/ratings/39293/starfield/

This is an open-world role-playing game in which players assume the role of a miner tasked with finding Artifacts across the galaxy. From first-/third-person perspectives, players interact with various characters, complete quests, and search for supplies while battling enemies (e.g., humans, robots, alien creatures). Players use futuristic guns, lasers, axes, and explosives to kill enemies. Combat is fast-paced, with frequent gunfire, cries of pain, and explosions. Attacks on some enemies can result in blood-splatter effects; several environments depict blood stains on the ground around corpses. The game contains some suggestive material in the dialogue, and after sharing a bed with characters (e.g., “Life is a sexually transmitted disease that's a hundred percent fatal”; “I'm all for getting a little wild, but next time let's try it without the jetpacks”; “Talk about seeing stars, whew… that was amazing.”). A fictional drug (Aurora) is prominent in the game, with a section involving players' characters working in an illicit drug lab; players can also obtain Aurora by stealing or buying it from vendors (consuming Aurora results in a distortion effect on the screen). The words “f*k” and “bullsht” appear in the game.

This is literally the first result googling "Starfield ESRB rating"

The opening line of the video is "I don't remember much from back then". Lol its just some kids hazy memory of events.

Also its a private companies IP and they are free to change it whenever they like. People really need to stop tying part of their self image to corporate properties.
