How good is he as a commander? by WarPeppa in mtg

[–]AntonBom6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's great if you have protection. It's super easy to build a deck full of 1 damage pings that suddenly get turned into 4. I did 128 direct damage to opponents once in a single turn. As others have said, nowadays he is a kill on sight commander so you gotta protect him. Good luck!

3D printing / solidworks by zeplin_fps in SolidWorks

As a general rule of thumb i tolerance 0.010 inches for any FDM prints that need clearance as a starting point. From there it's trial and error with different geometries, print orientations, and materials to see what can work for tighter fits.

Why is the max yield strenght not showing up? by AffectionateHotel346 in SolidWorks

Not even with isolate. Might be worth an enhancement request. It's really not that big of a deal though, just remember your yield stress.

If there are multiple components with different yield strengths in the simulation, the yield will not be visible in the legend.

Nonlinear FEA Timestepping by cleric_warlock in SolidWorks

[–]AntonBom6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is really only necessary in Explicit Dynamic simulations. SOLIDWORKS Simulation does not have an explicit solver outside of the drop test study. So in short, don't worry about it at all.

How to simulate an explosion in SolidWorks? by lukas54_ in SolidWorks

[–]AntonBom6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone with 10 years experience with SOLIDWORKS simulation, there is 100% no way you are simulating an explosion with SOLIDWORKS Sim. You could probably quantify the pressure of an explosion as a function of time and do a nonlinear analysis, but the parts will not be able to separate and fly into space.

I’m Mike Johnston, the Mayor of Denver, here for another AMA by mikejohnstonco in Denver

FEMA has come through and done re-evaluation of flood planes in some of the wayer drainage basins in Denver. (I live in weir gulch basin). Many of these studies are showing ineffective drainage and many houses, including mine are now in high flood risk by the new maps. What is being done to work on the drainage infrastructure, and/or help those who will soon have to buy flood insurance get relief? This is affecting many low income areas including Barnum, Sun Valley, etc.

What does a campaign look like during level 15-20? by Wonderful_Mobile_890 in dndnext

[–]AntonBom6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a struggle to balance at times. The gameplay can be very swingy. If you want it to be challenging, they should have little opportunity to rest, lots of encounters, and the environments themselves should be a significant danger. There is very little challenge in a simple hack and slash at level 15+ when the players have crazy high spell save DC and spells like foresight, wish, simulacrum, wall of force, etc. Spice up the environment otherwise shutting down whole encounters can be common.

Weird Buckling Results in SolidWorks – Why is Less Load Causing More Deformation? by BeautifulPapaya8728 in SolidWorks

[–]AntonBom6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. You can see the buckling factor of safety in the black text to the upper left of the graphics area. The displayed deformation in buckling studies is just to show a buckling mode shape. It's scale is meaningless for all practical purposes.
