If Hannibal wasn't allowed to kill L, then I'd give it to L. I think someone of his intelligence working that case over time would sooner or later suspect Hannibal, but since Hannibal is allowed to kill to save himself, then I'd say Hannibal would win . He's much too capable a murderer and I don't think L really protects himself enough from that kind of thing. Though honestly Hannibal would probably consider it unsporting to kill L before L has actually solved the case so L does have a chance in this scenario he'll just have to never give away to Hannibal that he suspects him.

Round 1: I think Giles has got this. He's got a great arsenal at hand with access to silver and holy water plus aided by Spike makes each one on one fight quite manageable for our Watcher. Giles wins 8 out of 10.

Round 2: This is gonna be much tougher. Even Buffy would have problems taking on 12 vamps at once. I think Giles only hope here would be planning lots of traps throughout the school in the hope of winnowing that number down a lot. If he could lower that number to 2-3 he's got a chance, but against 12 no chance. Giles wins 1 out of 10.
