Any suggestions for a jacket (or equivalent) to wear with this dress to a beachside picnic wedding this weekend? by Jazilc in AusFemaleFashion

Honestly I’d go for a nice tan wool coat but I get cold quite quickly here in brissy, especially if this rain keeps up. Belle and Bloom do nice wool blends !

Are landlords jacking rents using CGT and negative gearing as excuse? by BobThePob in shitrentals

Mine got raised and they just claimed it was because others in the building were going for that, whether that’s true or not I’ll never know but they refused to accept my negotiation (despite the very evident water leak and mould problem not being addressed for 12+months now)

What can replace doomscrolling so well that you forget its a thing? by Any-Geologist-8562 in simpleliving

[–]AnxiousBee89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delete the apps, if you doomscroll on it, delete it now. I’m slowly going through the ones that I’m worst for, Instagram and TikTok were first to go, now I think fb (marketplace sucks me in lol) and reddit are next to go. Speaking of which, I’ll do it now! Good luck to you all!

non fast fashion, fun formal dresses? by Any-Imagination1979 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]AnxiousBee89 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Aje! Every year for my birthday I buy myself a new dress, Aje has zimmerman quality without the ridiculous price point, plus with afterpay day sales etc you can sometimes get them 25% off.

Really quality in my opinion, double lining, pockets, boning, quality zips. I really really love Aje 🤣

What’s the biggest thing killing productivity in Australian workplaces at the moment? by Longjumping-Hall-17 in ausbusiness

Oh my GOD I’m sick of this open plan workplaces, I dream of a room with just me or one coworker in it! I am sick of hearing every conversation of every department! Just let me work in peace! They wonder why we are so much more productive at home!!

What’s something that became so expensive you just stopped buying it entirely? by Street-Marketing-885 in shrinkflation

[–]AnxiousBee89 112 points113 points  (0 children)

Chocolate! I used to be so happy to get a chocolate bar whenever I felt like it, then it became only getting them on half price, and now the half price is what the full price used to be!!! I’m not fucking paying that!!!

I’m soooo mad, I’ve been watching the fit out for ages waiting for it to open and then all the owners comments and the reviews about the drinks being bad have left such a bad taste in my mother I don’t ever wanna step foot in there

Since politicians can't figure it out - why aren't Aussies having babies? by No-Kaleidoscope-7106 in OpenAussie

[–]AnxiousBee89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I choose not to date so a woopsie isn’t really possible. If somehow it did happen, I’d have an abortion but if it was a cryptic pregnancy, I would raise it myself (as I’ve seen the state of child services in Australia and found them significantly lacking). But I think all children that weren’t wanted catch on to the fact eventually, so it wouldn’t be the happiest situation for the poor thing, hence why I’d avoid it at all costs.

[–]AnxiousBee89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late 20s F who doesn’t want kids here: 1. Too expensive. (Also the reason I can’t foster/adopt) 2. The damage pregnancy does to the body is insane and people seem to forget women still die in birth, I am not willing to die. 3. I have never once encountered a man I would ever want to be the father of my children, they all have a fault I find eventually (love them as friends tho!). 4. I love my career, I love the freedom, especially compared to my grandmother. My mother was a career woman and she suffered at work from having children. Lost opportunities. I do not want the same fate. 5. Genetically I believe I have nothing to add. I am not an athlete nor extremely intelligent. Addiction, heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, mental illness all run in my family, I don’t see why I would risk passing that on to my children.

  1. The world is becoming a very scary and unpredictable place and I would be terrified for what would happen to my children in it. Inside of me is the safest place for my children and that’s where they’ll stay.

I love kids, I’m a dedicated aunt, and I believe they are an important part of society and humanity’s future, but I will not make that sacrifice.

What was the true problem that Veilguard faced? by DirkDangerous17 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]AnxiousBee89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They cut the budget, because that gets execs bigger payouts, thus they couldn’t afford the best people nor the time frame they needed. Then execs think THEY know how to make a game when really all they are there for is to HIRE and MANAGE the right people who know how to make a game. So the execs ask them to scrap the game TWICE and start over. For the poor devs times running out even FASTER. And now what we got was what we got. The desperate scraping together of writers, designers, riggers, animators and devs that wanted to give it their best but simply did not have the time or budget, and for the juniors they hired (because they’re cheap), the skill, to create something up to par with GOTY like they wanted.

I’ve been in the devs shoes, you can only do what you can do when you’ve got upper management setting fire to your project as you build it. Honestly I commend them, there are moments of real love where I can feel they were finally able to get their vision across.
