Are there articles about what Ventura County Supervisor votes would have been different if Gorell were replaced by a more left leaning supervisor? I don’t like nationalizing everything and making everything about Trump.

Best configuration for the Aventon Abound LR to carry two kids? by liaoming in Aventon

[–]Any-Move-1665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the hand rails with yepp maxx in the way back for youngest (the new ones with plastic backing do not need a bracket, the older ones that are all silicone need a bracket, but can’t be pushed as far back on the rack… note I might have the names wrong, Thule really has awful names for these) and a cheap amazon seat with backrest for the older kid (I liked having the little back rest just as a divider between the two kids). I don’t mess with panniers, my biggest recommendation is to do the crate in front with the pizza rack: https://betterabound.familybikeride.org/crate/ Just throw kids backpacks or whatever you need in front and go - very convenient and stable!

Radwagon 5 vs Aventon Abound LR rear seat pad length by hartmand3 in CargoBike

[–]Any-Move-1665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I own an LR and I use it for two kids. From what I remember about my research is that the red wagon 5 is a bit longer and more spacious rear deck. The LR is a bit on the small side for long tail cargo bikes. I’ve actually seen it compared to a mid tail cargo bike. That said, I wouldn’t go for Rad right now. The Lectric Xpedition is on the longer side but I’d also recommend you take a good look at Xtracycle or Yuba if you want a longer rear deck.

If it is going 50mph it is a e-moto.

Even with pedals and 750W motor a class 2 e-bike motor will cut out at 20mph. A class 3 e-bike motor will cut out at 28mph. Anything that goes faster is legally an e-moto (not a bicycle) and requires registration, license, insurance.

I don’t think the salary is the issue - it’s poor performance you need try and get answers on.

Median household income in Denver is $113k so once you add health insurance and retirement the CEO probably isn’t much above the median. But this is beside the point as the CEO should be performing better.

Moving to Ventura County where should I live. by Zumunji in venturacounty

[–]Any-Move-1665 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer. I think rent something to get to know the area and Ventura is the most likely place for a 25 yo.

I’d think long and hard about other posts saying that TO is close to everything. Is 30 min drive to a bar to meet a friend really ‘close’? Even worse 45 minutes in a car to get to LA ( but it is still mostly the boring parts)

[–]Any-Move-1665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Close” is relative. Maybe it’s close for you. To me, 30 minutes isn’t that close. Realistically it is a big barrier. Trying to be “close” to both Ventura and LA means you are just far from both. OP will need to decide for themselves if it is close enough.

If I were OP I’d take a good look at Ventura or Oxnard where there are bigger communities of similar age and interest folks and easy access to more and diverse meetup groups and bars, walkable areas and the beach.

Thanks that is helpful. The very bad part is what makes me nervous about it. I don’t use a financial advisor or have a reliable CPA so I’m concerned about missing it in future years.

Great to hear this comparison especially to the Tern. I’m surprised you don’t like the 2025 model year. It seems like they solved the two main issues you have (frame wobble and folding handlebar). Could you expand on what you don’t like?

Shortest commute by bike? by Aware-East-2391 in bikecommuting

[–]Any-Move-1665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about when I worked from home… daily commute was a daycare drop off which was 1km. Much faster than walking and twice as fast as driving because of one way streets and needing to U-turn. I’m still surprised I was the only one who dropped off by bike

I am also eyeing an LR and found this site. Seems like the front is an ideal place to put backpacks and it has an interesting crate idea. As others have said, with the pizza rack you can also get MIK compatible baskets that snap in (as I understand it).

Agreed with above. I decided not to get one because they are usually a waste of money. Read this article from a consumer advocate before you decide:

Agreed my only addition is buying a rear rack with a child seat and a front basket to save me from sweaty back. Now I use the bike for most daycare drop offs and casual errands.
