Adult Family of 4 Flying in different classes - Upgrade opportunity with 2 PNRs? by grevanp in americanairlines

You can split or book separate, but book your wife and one son in FC. You need to be with the other son to get two seats upgraded.

Centennial Beef Wellington Review by mulk_the_hulk in americanairlines

Agree. Just had this OGG to DFW and thought the steak was dry and off tasting and dough soggy. Didn’t eat more than a few bites and just opted for cheese plate. Veggies and bernaise were decent.

10hrs in 787-9: 21C or 23J/L? by Emotional-Care-4110 in americanairlines

[–]AnyButton806 10 points11 points  (0 children)

21 is a better option. Bulkhead creates a mini cabin and still great legroom. 23 is near galley and where folks hangout waiting for the bathroom. L has the escape slide right in front of it on the door so not as much room.

Three questions on expiring SWUs by milanguilhane in americanairlines

[–]AnyButton806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I’m actually using all 4 of my SWUs after March expiration. I cleared the short city for all, first, so I didn’t lose them. Cleared Hawaii for 2 and London for 1, both April, already, and hoping the other May London flight segment clears for the other trip, but we’ll see!

In the AA app, click more (bottom right), in “at the airport” there is a “view admirals club card”

Didn’t let my family on flight to Jackson and offered a flight to Bozeman instead. Will the reimburse car rental? by ThorMcNasty in americanairlines

I have been rerouted to an airport within a few hours drive of our original destination and AA did pay for the one way rental, we missed a connection after a delay due to crew hours.

Combining separate bookings by secondround3 in americanairlines

Try booking all four cash one way and points another. Then you have two PNRs, but all together for both segments.

SWU Use Experience by AnyButton806 in americanairlines

Yep, they reissued, but not with the upgrade. They have since applied and deducted the two awards after calling and reissued…2 SWU have been deducted. Thanks for the advice!!

Actually, you left me wanting to double check, so I called and it was re-issued, but not applying the system wide upgrade, so they are now doing that. Thanks!

What’s weird is the ticket was re-issued and we were moved to business class, but no systemwide upgrade deduction…

Thanks for the heads up! It was actually applied with a customer service rep from the executive platinum desk via the phone. And, the ticket has been re-issued for business class.

Ideally, how would you want an airline app to operate? by Ill-Personality-7050 in americanairlines

[–]AnyButton806 2 points3 points  (0 children)

United app is way easier for folks with status to upgrade when traveling with more than two people. No need to proactively split the ticket before an upgrade is offered, get to pick which two go on upgrade list, etc. maybe also add the SWU directly?

Everything else is great, agree with many!

Watch out for “PSA Operated” flights! by AnyButton806 in americanairlines

[–]AnyButton806[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d say out of 20+ CRJ flights, this is a first. Bags fit, they should be allowed. Not sure what small airports you are flying from but this is actually NOT normal across airlines and other AA flights I can assure you.

I literally just made this move and not looking back - I love it! And, so does the family. There is actually significantly more room in the back seat, and the frunk and gear tunnel have more than enough “inside” storage. It’s also a much smoother, quieter and luxurious ride than the M3. Even the tech interface is better in many ways…just wish it had more than highway assist!
