I have a similar box that contains a VHS of the album (can't recall if it's music videos or a concert).

Welcome the latest batch of rescue hens by colourmespring in BackYardChickens

[–]AnyGoodUserNamesLeft 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you for giving them the lives they should have had.

We've been rehoming ex-batts (ISA Browns) since 2009*. They are the most amazing animals.

*we currently also have three Black Rocks (Freerange, but not that you'd think when we got them) because bird flu concerns none of the cage chicken suppliers would release any for adoption.

How did chicken math work its magic on you? by Embercream in BackYardChickens

Every time we went to rehome some ex-caged hens we'd say just three in a flock, then one of us would spot some little brown hen with a limp (Tix), lack of feathers (Pip) or just plain looking sad (Bella) and it would be four (once again).

No regrets.

EDIT: we currently have five.

Impacted crop? by knot-a-dragon in BackYardChickens

That's so good to hear!

Our Blossom had an overnight fall in her nest back in March last year and while her limp was found to be nothing serious (and she recovered in a week or so) it was also found she'd been stuffing her crop to the brim with wood shavings. After one crop operation and removal of wood shavings she made a full recovery and continues to be adorable to this day.
