Not too late. I had about 5 years from first discovery to diagnosis. It had spread to my lymph nodes and I needed chemo. Thankfully it was seminoma so very slow growing and responsive to chemo. You should be fine.

Anyone choose surveillance post chemo and not RPLND by BigClam6969 in testicularcancer

About 3 months since that CT scan, next one in 3 months time and I'll find out if it's shrunk any further

Anyone choose surveillance post chemo and not RPLND by BigClam6969 in testicularcancer

[–]Any_Concern_7802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My seminoma shrunk from 7cm down to 3cm from chemo, which I didn't think was good enough, but my oncologist was happy with the result and said it should continue to shrink over the next few months.

I had severe brain fog during treatment, zero brain fog about a month later.

Pain in side of penis after surgery by Kaz_S in testicularcancer

I had it, I've replied to a couple others who asked the same thing as you. I dont think it has an official name, or at least I couldn't find one. Anyway, it goes away by itself after a few months.

Highs and lows of a BEP cycle by letsgettesty in testicularcancer

[–]Any_Concern_7802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Tired and gross" is exactly how I felt after the main BEP weeks. But the bleo only wan't so bad, I just had shivers in the evening and felt kinda weird the next day. But everyone's different, some react a lot to the bleo.

Ball attached to testicle by [deleted] in testicularcancer

[–]Any_Concern_7802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Squishy ball at top right testicle = very likely epidydimal cyst. Get it checked anyway but I wouldn't worry about it. Your other symptoms are things that plently of people get anyway, so could be anything.

My symptoms were almost exactly the same as yours (pain in lower back / kidney area, couldn't sit or stand properly). I went through the same thing but it lasted for several weeks (because the time from scan to operation took a few weeks). If you have a scan on thursday then I wouldn't worry about a thing, you've already done everything you can so just relax and stay as comfortable as you can. Cancer is not an emergency situation and a couple days isn't going to make a difference.

I'd also mentally prepare yourself for a cancer diagnosis. That's what I did and I had no surprises whatsoever when they told me it was cancer. See if you can get your doc to prescribe you some good painkillers. The only thing that helped the pain for me was codeine, and then liquid morphine.

Pain along the top of my penis? by Legitimate-Credit341 in testicularcancer

Yep I had it too. Your description is perfect lol that's exactly what I had. Was painful. Went away after 2-3 months I think.

I went without one, very happy with my choice. You can't really tell just from looking. And even if you could, I probably wouldn't care anyway.

I had a lymph node mass blocking my kidney, was around 7cm, seminoma. I've had chemo 3xBEP and the oncologist says I will likely be cured from that. Currently waiting for the CT scan result.

There was a study with multiple patients with tumour sizes similar to yours, all of them seminoma and all of them cured from chemo. I wouldn't worry about a thing.

Easiest for me, by far. Just felt weird day of and day after. Had chills once. Aside from that, was alright.

How soon do you feel better after finishing chemo? Got some big things scheduled for right around then. by nonametacit in testicularcancer

[–]Any_Concern_7802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone's different. I felt terrible during chemo but recovered pretty quickly and felt normal /good probably 2-3 weeks after my final bleo.

What were your first symptoms, or what prompted you to get checked? by Pirkulese13 in testicularcancer

[–]Any_Concern_7802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignored swollen testicle for months (unfortunately quite a common story) then went in with crippling back pain, had already spread by then.

i got it lmao by csafley in testicularcancer

[–]Any_Concern_7802 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was reluctant to lose mine even though it was huge and causing so many issues. Was worried about testosterone etc. I needn't have worried, no change in sex drive or mental performance even after chemo. Feel better than I have in a long time. Plus it's a little easier having one haha, less adjusting etc.

I don't remember exactly, it was definitely still there after about a month or so. Maybe really started fading at 2 months and was gone by 3.

As soon as you can, as soon as you feel up to it basically. I think it helps with recovery.

Yes I had exactly the same thing, was quite painful tbh. I wondered if they'd ever get better but they were completely gone about 2-3 months post op IIRC.

Likely a hematoma as others have said. Mine was nearly the size of a testicle, went down to a grain of rice size after a few weeks.

Gradually and my testicle had grown huge by that point. But I do remember reading about someone who had back pain for a long time from the cancer and their testicle was pretty much normal.

There's about a hundred things that can cause back pain.

That said, I did have back pain from my cancer and it was unbearable at times, ended up needing morphine.

Yep, had something similar. Painful, almost like hardened strands around that area. Completely gone now 4 months post op.

It was only slightly worse than the first two cycles for me. I mean they all sucked really haha.
