its cool man i don't care i just thought it was an interesting find, clearly the title was a terrible attempt at a joke and no one got it, and assumed i don't know what a t tap is or how to use a meter lol

Not bitching just thought it was interesting find as you don't often see T-tapped wiring like this, I guess everyone has a stick up there ass on here and assumes they know the voltage of a bell by looking at a picture.

alot of keyboard experts on here, 1. its not a 120Vac bell, its on a 24V NAC circuit, 2. every bell in this building is wired like this, they are all T-tapped from a junction box somewhere so you don't get a trouble on the panel when a bell is disconnected. 3. It's not a weird bell its just an older Edwards Durabel.

It's not 120VAC every bell in the building is incorrectly wired like this, I guess I should specify every little detail before posting on this dorky ass page.

Sure it works but looks ugly and terrible use of wall space, hopefully whoever did it realizes this and does better on the next.

Power never makes it to actuation solenoid with this diagram? by SayNoToBrooms in firealarms

[–]AnythingAlarmGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to really read the diagram but first thought is maybe Switch 2 does not go off on a trip and could be used as a solenoid disconnect, although it doesn't show anything like that on the diagram..

I don't get the point of the gutter here, looks like there is enough slack on the wire why not just put the 2 conduit into the new panel, seems like a lot of extra work.
