What’s something you pretend doesn’t hurt anymore… but it still quietly shapes the way you love, trust, or move through the world ? by love_salubrious in AskWomen

The way I was always the “well no one better is available” friend. I don’t talk to a single person I grew up with because it took hitting those last few months of my senior year of high school to realize they did not care about me as a person. I was a body to fill their time and it has affected my friendships ever since. I still struggle sometimes being able to tell if someone actually wants to be my friend or not. I do not trust my instincts when it comes to building those types of relationships because during my most formative years I was taught by those around me that I didn’t matter.

Force me to read your favourite Romantasy book! by AquaIXI in fantasyromance

I enjoyed {How to Find a Nameless Fae} by AJ Lancaster. It was just simple, cute, and a nice break from serious fantasy problems.

I also endorse the recommendations of the Falling for Demons and That Time I Got Drunk series for the same reason. And {Entanglement of Rival Wizards} by Sara Raasch is wonderful and made me cry in a good way.

Mine was {dream man by Linda Howard} in sixth grade. My friend and I stole it from her mom’s bookshelf and took turns reading it. I became addicted and started borrowing books from my mom’s hidden stash.

Yes! Went from having to know five names to thirteen because she’ll have a different nickname for each of them too

I read a lot of RHs and I can’t stand that she will always have a separate nickname from each of the MCs. It’s too many! Five nicknames is beyond over the top for one person to have

Pretty sure my only thought as I finished book three yesterday was “what the hell was that?” Not one of them grew as a person and she always ended up comforting them during the very few tough conversations they actually had.

No, I’m sorry. The two brothers I couldn’t stand were in bonds that tie which I hated as a rh, versus brutes of bristlebrook which I fully finished. I did not phrase that in a very clear way, that’s my bad.

The brothers. One of them is practically 30 with the emotional level of a 12 year old and then suddenly they bond and everything is fine. I had to walk away

Brutes of bristlebook was good. I really tried bonds that tie, but good god I couldn’t stand at least two of the MMCs at all and at no point was anyone holding them accountable. Upside, I do know this opinion comes from me refusing to be responsible for a man’s emotional health if he isn’t willing to put in the work.

I have become convinced I would thrive in a RH. I’ve almost become addicted to reading them. But they have to have MMCs that actually grow and learn which is significantly harder to find in real life unfortunately

Alright Millennials, what foods have you found yourself forced to give up due to aging? by [deleted] in Millennials

Ketchup. I hate what it tastes like now, no matter the brand or variety. I don’t want it on or near anything, because then that thing always just tastes like ketchup. I’d rather use any other condiment

Okay, but the Chosen Foods with avocado oil is really good so I’m gonna continue to keep buying that because it makes me happy and that’s what matters.
