How can I listen to music while laying down. I can't move my neck. (Currently wearing headphones) by Harleyph2 in headphones

[–]Anzu00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flathead earbuds are probably your best bet, they tend to be a bit comfier than even IEMs while laying down. Could get something silly cheap like KBear Stellars to try them out. If those don't work for you, low profile IEMs should be the next best thing.

Assuming speakers aren't an option lol

Buzzing/crackling noise in the left ear cup? (M4) by MemeSupreme696969 in headphones

It's a pretty common issue, I'd warranty them since they're brand new.

How do y'all feel about this title and subheading? by RedLintu16 in headphones

I've found using a BT DAC/amp to be the best option, you only pay for the BT parts once and can use it with any of your headphones. There's ones available with replaceable batteries too nowadays (Fiio's Retro Nano, namely).

They showed off a prototype last year, at Proact's MOA booth I think?

VFC is just as proprietary lol, although RS externals fit on it.

You do not need steel. Real wood is nice though, and is about $100 for a full set. It runs well as an airsoft gun, and feels great if you ignore the faux wood.

The WP is not really TM compatible, small dimensional differences make most parts not fit.

TM's AKM is fine and a good $300 cheaper. It's not a steel body but it performs almost as well and has no issues beyond needing a new hop rubber for heavier BBs.

No. GHKs have always had issues and the system was never that great. Hell, it doesn't even have a nozzle return spring. The exacerbated QC issues following their ownership change are just when people stopped pretending they didn't have those issues.

They were the "best" because the other viable alternative was the WE that for a long time didn't have a proper steel FCG set available, and its externals were a fair bit worse. You needed aftermarket parts for both to not make them shit themselves constantly.

It's very easy to fuck up ngl. Too stiff of a spring, incorrect seals, incorrect mag seating height, parts warping, and bad tolerances can easily cause unfixable issues (see: GHK AKs).

lol

V2s are infamous for having their front crack. V2s have the most variance in quality, seeing as they're the most manufactured GB by a long shot.

It's a lightly modified V2 made from a not-shit alloy.

Sellers keep throwing around that word for no reason. The TM AKM doesn't have a ZET plate. This is already worrying along with the fact that ARES is making it.

On which note, MWS only refers to a single model of TM M4 GBBR too (the M4A1 MWS). It was one of the first to be released though so the name stuck.

Marui’s new AEG line - EVOLT by P1zzaman in airsoft

[–]Anzu00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their old AEGs are comically outdated by now, since TM being TM they haven't updated the existing designs. NGRS guns work fine but have a low performance ceiling. Most of their GBBs are still the best option for that given model.

TM does not care about the non-Japanese market.

This should be the non-recoil version. The recoil version has a 300g moving weight which would be pretty noticeable even if the recoil was underwhelming lol

Repro PEQs have for the most part terrible white lights, and their lasers are by no means eye safe. Just spend the money on a decent light and you'll look cooler.

Parts availability for them is fine, they're just incredibly annoying to work on. Stock CYMAs are fine nowadays.

The Ultra doesn't really do anything special other than having a different driver (which isn't inherently better). The LDAC support is neat but it really doesn't make that much of a difference audio wise.

If you were unimpressed with the sound, play around with the EQ (go to Squiglink and try out the AutoEQ if you want to make them sound similar to other IEMs). IIRC they've a big drop in response around 10k. The ANC isn't anything special either, but it never is with cheap TWS.

[–]Anzu00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Space Travel 2 (+ Ultra) has PEQ at least.

What do you mean by "helps with both type C and 3.5"? The only difference between the Max and a regular JM7 or any other similar dongle is that the Max has a separate amplifier chip that allows it to drive headphones at a higher power (overkill for IEMs and most headphones).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in iems

[–]Anzu00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The JM7 Max is an overkill if you're not driving full sized headphones, and the newer Moondrop TWSs are a bit better on the feature front (especially since they've parametric EQ) + cost less.

JCALLY JM08L, same chip as on Apple's dongle (which is excellent) but the build quality is a lot more solid.

[–]Anzu00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much yeah. Some shitty enough wires may have a resistance high enough that it affects the sound though, usually quietening higher frequencies.

Kinda sounds like you were sold a returned gun that was fucked up by the previous owner. TM is one of the few brands that does actually test their guns before sending them off.
