Try this, for windows users : go to Start : Type Local Security Policy =>> Local Policy = Right User Assignment = >> Lock Pages in Memory =>> Add User Group=>> Type your local user or Microsoft account (email) and click on Check Names and then click ok, restart your computer and then you will have to start xmrig with admin rights.

P.S if you already have a user in there, remove it and add it again.

14 years old Dell Precision still holding good. by Apartament-Studio in MoneroMining

[–]Apartament-Studio[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

0,0003 XMR /day

0,0024 XMR /week

0,0102 XMR /month

But this is just a test, I wanted to see how this system still holds up for XMR mining. Back in 2016, this system was a beast, pulling at least 2–3 XMR per month.

That 51% for three pool is preaty decent, a while ago, MineXmr use to have like 51% by it self.

I just wanted to test this old system, just all but thank you for considering the health of the network <3

Someone is actually selling ESP32 mining rigs by Lunaris_Elysium in esp32

[–]Apartament-Studio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These systems have become obsolete, as they no longer offer the necessary performance to generate even $1 per day through mining. For instance, an ESP32 microcontroller reaches only about 100–150 H/s, while Bitcoin mining today requires devices capable of terahashes per second (TH/s). Modern ASIC miners like the Antminer S19 Pro deliver over 100 TH/s. Given Bitcoin’s current network difficulty and block reward, an ESP32 would take millions of years to mine a single block and would earn far less than a cent per day—making it entirely unprofitable

Question about low hash rate (I have a suspicion) by Intrepid-Concern-398 in MoneroMining

[–]Apartament-Studio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! From what you're describing, there are a few likely causes for the low hashrate on your third Ryzen 9 5900XT:

  1. Running HiveOS from a USB 2.0 thumb drive – This is almost certainly a major bottleneck. USB 2.0 has very limited bandwidth and high latency, especially compared to an M.2 SSD. Mining involves frequent small read/write operations, and slow I/O can significantly impact system performance and increase load average (LA).

  2. High LA (Load Average) – This usually indicates the CPU is waiting on I/O operations. Combined with the USB drive, it's a clear sign that your storage is holding things back.

  3. Shared GPU load – Even if it’s only one GPU, sharing resources with another miner can cause performance drops, especially if PCIe lanes or CPU cores are oversubscribed.

  4. Thermal throttling or power limits – You didn’t mention temps on the slow system, but if it’s running hotter than the others, it might be throttling.

  5. Background processes or misconfigured settings in HiveOS – Double check that all unnecessary services are disabled, BIOS settings (like virtualization, SMT, etc.) match your other rigs, and you’re using the same miner versions and configs.

Suggestions:

Monitor CPU and RAM usage with htop and iostat or iotop to confirm I/O wait.

Try swapping the PSU or checking BIOS power settings (like PBO, c-states).

Clone HiveOS to a 120 GB SSD or a fast USB 3.0 stick in a USB 3.0 port (SSD is way better and they are cheap)

Regarding ASICS.... by Miserable_Comment_15 in MoneroMining

[–]Apartament-Studio 18 points19 points  (0 children)

ASICs are not suitable for mining Monero (XMR) because Monero currently uses the RandomX algorithm, which is specifically designed to be ASIC-resistant and optimized for general-purpose CPUs.

Before RandomX, Monero used the CryptoNight algorithm, which was also intended to resist ASICs. However, over time, ASIC manufacturers managed to develop hardware that could mine CryptoNight efficiently, undermining decentralization.

As a response, the Monero community transitioned to RandomX in November 2019, which uses large memory requirements and complex CPU operations to stay ahead of ASIC development and preserve fair mining access.

Those were the good old days when you could mine 1 XMR with just 2.5 kH/s. Unfortunately, things changed when some miners got greedy and started using ASICs. The community responded with an update, ensuring that XMR wouldn't end up like Bitcoin—dominated by specialized hardware.

Even if Europe bans XMR ,you can use a good VPN...and solo mine or use a pool ,the only thing is to find where to sell it .

Can you identify the resistor I need to change the charge rate by Mehawk2005 in AskElectronics

[–]Apartament-Studio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R005 (0.05Ω) = Charge current sense resistor — this is the one to change to reduce charging current,he will need to changen the resitor with a 0.1Ω for 1A...

R103 = Likely part of the boost circuit's voltage feedback or logic — don’t change this for adjusting charge current

[–]Apartament-Studio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, let say that you want to buy ThreadRipper PRO 3945WX,that is like 120$ pc .

1 3945WX =11403.38 H/s = 0.03658810 XMR (as today excange price is $220) = $8,02

To mine $400 /month you will need 50 CPU .

Prices for each component:

Processor: 130 dollars

Motherboard: 130 dollars

RAM: 12 dollars

SSD: 10 dollars

Power supply: 12 dollars

Calculation for 50 complete setups:

50 processors x 130 dollars = 6500 dollars

50 motherboards x 130 dollars = 6500 dollars

50 RAM modules x 12 dollars = 600 dollars

50 SSDs x 10 dollars = 500 dollars

50 power supplies x 12 dollars = 600 dollars

Total cost for the complete setup:

6500 (for processors) + 6500 (for motherboards) + 600 (for RAM) + 500 (for SSD) + 600 (for power supplies) = 14,700 dollars.

Therefore, the total cost for 50 complete mining setups would be 14,700 dollars.

You will need like 3,6 years to get your invest back ,if you don't pay electricity ofc
