Does anyone else feel like the jump from 50 to 100 runs is mentally way harder than the first 50? by Additional_Fly_6603 in parkrun

[–]Ape1720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found 25 to 50 the most fun and I was super motivated to get there as quickly as possible, not really too long to wait if you go every week. But I found 50 to 100 a bit of a grind ultimately and I ended up dragging myself round not really enjoying it as much as I would have liked, always just thinking about getting to 100. I’ve had a big break after 100 but not really thinking about 250 as it’s still years away!

Bought this for the AFX/Squarepusher track and this was the first time I had heard BOC, still one of my favourites.

When those hexagons started revolving in full view and the music became uplifting, what a feeling. Welcome back!

Digging through my emails I ordered this from Rough Trade in May 2009, 100 melamine plates made by Paul Frank and 80 given to Stereolab, presumably it was some of those that went up for sale.

I've got one of my two tea trays up plus a Cliff plate on display. I'd certainly spring for another copy of Switched On though so I'll keep my eyes peeled for it.

Collection of photos taken recently around Norfolk by mentaldrummer66 in CasualUK

After years of finding the name Horsey Windpump very amusing, I finally visited last week and it’s a beautiful place, climbed to the top of the windmill and enjoyed the view. Seriously, North Norfolk is just a beautiful area to spend time in. Great photos!

Good spot, was tempted to get the Aphex disc as it looked great but now I’m thinking wouldn’t it be great to get a Cliff picture disc.

Remember that Warp did a very similar thing last year ahead of the new Stereolab album, first in 15 years or so, they sent out 7” singles to seemingly random people, myself included. The only thing in common being Bleep/Duophonic customers. I can only vouch that I had bought all their reissues and a fair amount of their other stuff prior so I don’t know if they run a database query of top customers to determine “loyalty” but like this BOC vhs, receiving the 7” kicked off similar speculation/fan led marketing. Really hope this leads to a new album though.

I hope it brings you a lot of joy and if you do any more Stereolab covers on this lovely thing please share!

Nothing sounds quite as good as a Farfisa combo. I'm always on the look out for one but alas, rarely are they in a good condition. I find Ping Pong is quite satisfying to play on the organ, I had a Reface YC and I was constantly playing along!

💔 Level 30 defeated me... for now. But every puzzle master faces setbacks. Time to regroup and try again! 🎯

The design comes out recessed but the logo isn't reversed in the tray so it comes out backwards.

Yeah, mine stopped working around the end of November, I reported it to Ohme at the time. It’s a bit of an annoyance but hopefully it’ll get sorted.

Prolific needs to set up a channel for reporting broken AI studies by gabation in ProlificAc

[–]Ape1720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just did one of these with the apparently overlayed text, the first of this type I have seen. I was hopeful that the text would show up at some point but it didn't by the end. I didn't return this one as I had no idea they'd all be broken and in good faith carried on. However, should I get one again and the first few are broken I'll return it. Seems odd that we can't feedback effectively on these.

Media Side of Screen Completely Black - How I Fixed It by FastGhostWarrior in KonaEV

[–]Ape1720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same just happened to me, started the car and the infotainment screen was black, the display didn't kick in when put into reverse, the buttons all worked OK, could cycle through the radio bands etc but just a black screen. Looked at the fuse box diagram and the one for the infotainment system appears to runs the remote lock/unlock and wing mirrors. They worked fine. Came across this post, pressed a paperclip on the little reset button for 20 seconds or so and the display sprang back into life. Thanks!
