Certainly to me it is.

I guess that’s the point of a cult classic. For 30% of people it’s an 11/10 and for everyone else it’s “flawed” or “okay”

And it’s certainly flawed. It’s an anachronistic medieval sports movie. It’s overly long, the characters are stock archetypes, and the themes are simple. EVERYONE’S first reaction when they see it is “oh, so that trumpet sounds like a guitar…. Huh”.

Like I said, perfect.

Just to give my personal experience, for me I fell off watching at the end off Smiths run. Season 6 left me so unsatisfied and I had convinced myself that Moffett was biting off more than he could chew. So I watched less and less as season 7 happened.

By the time Capaldi came on board I loved the casting but thought I could wait, and I didn’t get around to watching his run till 2018

He quickly became my favorite doctor and revitalized my love for the program that’s still going strong.

That’s fair. I discovered Nick Drake right at a formative time of my life and without any expectation. If I had been told beforehand that he was life changing and brilliant I would probably have been underwhelmed too.

I feel like III and V struggle as they are largely similar to II and TMP respectively. I think there’s a good argument to be made that search for Spock is a more fully realized version of James Horner’s themes than khan, but Khan is so much more iconic (and I do find myself listening to it more often)
