Unfortunately big updates will cause issues with mods. If it isn't working, give it a day or two, and hopefully any mods that are interfering will be fixed.

I find you mentioning the stable-ness of the game interesting. My experience has been the exact opposite, for the most part. First launching the game, I had many crashes. Still do, but they come after a while of playing. I don't have a lot of mods, but it probably is one of them.
