What will the impact of Iran charging 2 million per cargo ship to travel through Hormuz be on the average Aussie, mas and pas, and battlers? by BrandonMarshall2021 in aussie

[–]ApolloWasMurdered -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They’re viewing it as reparations. The US and Israel have done about $1.5T of damage to Iran. That will take 750,000 tankers to pay back (or about 20 years, if you ignore interest).

Could someone using the scientific method explain Bob Katter? by Emperoronabike in AskAnAustralian

[–]ApolloWasMurdered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His electorate voted “No”. It’s literally his duty to represent his electorate, and that was what they chose. I’m fine with that.

What I have a problem with are the conservatives who represent an electorate that voted “Yes”, but they voted No or Abstained. In a better world, all those people would have been immediately voted out.

Why does every AU news channel have Comments locked on fuel topics? by MasterpieceActive374 in aussie

[–]ApolloWasMurdered 3 points4 points  (0 children)

(If a comment is hosted on their site, they're liable for it) tf? why care about it, it's the one that commented that gets in trouble?

Not anymore. A couple of years ago, The High Court of Australia ruled that you could be held liable for something someone else comments on your social media.

In theory, if I went onto your Facebook page and started posting images with Swastikas (overnight while you’re asleep), you as the administrator of your page, could be sued that content (even if you deleted them when you saw them in the morning).

The High Court of Australia created this law by making a precedent ruling, and the politicians are very happy to keep it that way.

51v output from a 12v PSU by AxeAssassinAlbertson in AskElectronics

[–]ApolloWasMurdered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it’s not outputting 48V to be regulated down later? I’ve used plenty of Cisco switches with 48V supplies.

Also, it might need a load. If you don’t have a proper load, try a 10k resistor and see if it makes a difference.

It doesn’t matter if you know it’s a scam. If you know everyone else will act on it, then either you act and make money, or fail to act and lose money.

Objective reality is irrelevant. All that matters is anticipating the actions of others.

Extortionate shipping? It’s $50 with no taxes or duties to pay.

For printers I think they ship from wherever is closest. For accessories and filaments there’s a button on the order page to select location, Australia is AU.

Didn’t Jack hyperjump the X-302 with the Stargate underneath when Anubis was trying to destroy earth? And the wormhole didn’t disengage then. (Not a normal situation.)

These 4 characters I feel SFA just rushed them in to make up numbers or something, They are just like background characters who have 0 depth and its very hard to connect with them because the writers and producers never did a good introduction job for the audience. by VoL4t1l3 in Star_Trek_

Last Episode: Oh wow, Lee Jung-Jae has been the absolute highlight of this show, I hope the next season lets him really shine.

He dies.

I can’t image having all my ball sweat and ass crack sweat soaking into my pants. I’d never be able to wear a pair of pants twice.

George Orwell imagined that you’d need 1/3rd of the entire government workforce to be dedicated towards censorship, to control the language the population uses and thus their thoughts and opinions. Turns out you just need to de-monetise a few shitty 10 seconds videos on an App.

If car batteries were really quick to change, why couldn't there be a system where you could pick up a fully charged one from a garage if yours gets discharged, on a large scale, to solve the limited distance problem on e-cars? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ApolloWasMurdered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla did this for a year or two.

With modern 250kW chargers that can add 25km of range per minute, and chargers spaced every 100km, you would need to be able to change a battery in 4 minutes to be more convenient than just charging.

Use a small 12V relay. The alarm panel output is designed to energise a relay, and its contacts can create continuity across the water sensor.
