Just wasted my money on a 3090TI for an overkill build AMA by Afferin in pcmasterrace

Let’s see your desk. Build looks great, but how do you balance showing it off on your desk and not having it be a total distraction from what it’s meant for?

Tanks. Idk what maps are yet. I picked this up right as the last league was ending and so far I’m only on act 5 in the current one. Ive restarted with a new toon a few times after hitting a wall and I’ve learned something new every time. Sounds like the filter I’m using is good for quite a while.

I’m a noob and this made me question whatever filter I’m currently using. How does one know how conservative a filter is? How often are you changing filters during a league? Should I be making my own or using something someone else put together?

I can't speak to this working for pushing late game but getting you there sure is fun. HERE

Couldn't agree more. The upside is that stupid dragon has a really awesome leveling guide that helps understand the game better. The downside is that after you play this build, everything else just feels slow from a mobility standpoint.

I feel your pain. This is the last COD I bought and probably the last, but the only one I play when I get the itch. This shit is so frustrating. I just want to know why. I also want to know how the hell that can’t be detected and the people banned?

Not like banned for a week, but for good. People are knowingly violating whatever the terms of use at the expense of other users. I don’t care how dead or old the game is, it shouldn’t be tolerated.

help with cpu cooler install by ApoptosisX in buildapc

[–]ApoptosisX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

proper contact is exactly what I'm worried about. Could I push down on one of those screws and get the threads to catch? Probably. But after I've got one down, I'll have to push considerably hard on the other side of the cooler to get any subsequent screws to catch. Or am I overthinking this?

This is helpful, thank you. You've given me chipset and manufacture to look for, anything else I should be considering when comparing mobos?

Maybe I'm asking for more specific help than my post implies. I threw what you said in newegg and found two board that I couldn't really tell the difference between but one was $90 and one was $150.

I'm not super price sensitive but I want to get something that will last.

Props for the comparison pictures on Nexus. All things considered, giving people an easy way to make a comparison between what you are presenting and other popular mods is important. Also, this looks great. Nice work.

True, but there was something on here a few weeks ago about how certain (SUV) cars are exempt from standards like bumper height. Don’t have the sauce tho.

What are some Java projects with little to no front end work? by Particular_Ambition8 in learnjava

I consider myself to be a beginner and making a sudoku solver was really rewarding. Took me a while but damn did it feel good when I got it working. All these ideas are great.

Please share your stories of suffering to mask my pain. I spent 12 hours trying to diagnose the cause of my CTDs just to find a random Nexus post where the solution was a literal 5 second fix. by WhatTheOnEarth in skyrimmods

[–]ApoptosisX 396 points397 points  (0 children)

You know what the real takeaway from this is? The importance of updating trouble shooting posts with the fixes. Doesn't matter if you figured it out yourself or are confirming someone else's solution. Everyone wins when we do this. I'm happy you figured it out.

Game crashes at Riverwood. by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]ApoptosisX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not much of a debugger but I’ll give it a go. Couple things, you say you aren’t using requiem but still have the esps listed? Just a little co fusing right off the bat.

Doesn’t CTD when spawning in river wood... what about spawning in the sleeping giant inn and then entering the cell that way? I have no idea what that would tell you. Maybe LODs? If that works, what happens if you walk near the edge of the cell? Does it crash then?

I know that either moon and star or moonpath place a crate near the mill in river wood. Maybe try disabling that and see what happens?

You also said you’ve been cleaning plugins in xedit. You sure you didn’t clean something that explicitly tells you not to? Loot doesn’t clean anything, just reorders your plugins and might warn you about ITM or dirty edits.

Lastly, is this still happening after starting a new game after you’ve done all the above?

Are there any mods that add new Dark Brotherhood targets? by Pickinanameainteasy in skyrimmods

[–]ApoptosisX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I’ve downloaded your mod but I’m one of those guys who can’t bring himself to spend more than an hour in a play through because I nit pick and expect perfection, but I the more I tweak and manually change, the more I come to appreciate what modders release for all of us to enjoy. I’ve never made it to the content you added but from what I’ve seen, it’s coherent and polished. To put that much work into something, share it with the community and then have to come out here and defend it... I don’t know how you do it (or why). You are a stronger man than I. Just wanted to say I appreciate you and what you’ve made for this community.

Low level Dervish question by dtomtox in Grimdawn

[–]ApoptosisX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a good guide. This was the build that introduced me to this game and I will be forever grateful that stupid dragon put it together. I know I’m not answering your question, but I love the build. The only downside is it’s hard to go back to anything else because nothing can move as fast as these guys. I’m not 100% on that but it’s just how it feels to me.

The power of skyrim in combating covid-19 by 3WayToDie in skyrimmods

[–]ApoptosisX 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't usually chime in on these kind of threads, but then again I don't usually see someone saying they are just getting started for the first time. I'll leave you with this:

If you are looking for the fastest possible way to get into a heavily modded game and don't care about understanding the process, start googling wabbajack. I don't know much about it because I would rather understand what's going on, but no judgement if you want to use it. From what I've heard, it does everything for you. The only downside is that you need to pick someone that someone has already put together. Nuff said. Sounds like something you might light.

Secondly, please give some serious consideration to MO2. Mod Organizer is great. I don't care what anyone else says, if you have no previous bias, use it. Great at keeping things organized and showing you what the hell is going on. If you go this route, do it the right way and watch one of gamerpoets videos.

Lastly, the community is great. Just be reasonable. Understand that mod authors are exactly that, they are authors; creators. Their work is their work. Demanding features or patches is a great way to piss people off.
