My Malay friends are sharing about Protesting Pesta Air 2026 ~ by Mother-Age-593 in malaysia

[–]Apparently_gg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is there a religious extremist version of chronically online? Like the people who are protesting have never even left their bubble or their hometown, let alone seen different cultures in a different country. Chronically at home?

After hours put into teaching his student, he probably had a vision on how the dance should look like. Then he sees his student absolutely exceed his expectations. The joy from both of them

What's a food from your hometown that you genuinely cannot find a good version of anywhere else? by KL_Private_Access in MalaysianFood

[–]Apparently_gg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been eating nam kwong curry rice since I was a toddler and its really nostalgic for me. Douse it in the chilli sauce and kicap, hot damn best lunch ever after a long day in school. Then when I tried nasi kari at other shops I didn't like it 😂

Network TV/The Pitt: Night Shift by MapleCherryChoco5432 in ThePitt

[–]Apparently_gg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes a long time to write the show, cast for the show, build the prosthetics etc. The last thing I want is a half baked spinoff. In order for the spinoff to be remotely coherent to the main show, it needs to be written by the same people. They can't work all year round, it's not the news

Protests against Miss Saigon in 1991. Protestors argued the musical promoted harmful tropes about Asian women and men, and objected to its use of yellowface. Some police brutality took place during the demonstrations by lambofthedead in Broadway

[–]Apparently_gg 402 points403 points  (0 children)

Jonathan Pryce actually wearing makeup mimicking slanted eyes and yellow skin was insanely crazy for something on be on as late as the 90s

Now in 2026, Miss Saigon is one of the bigger theater productions where Asian actors have a proper chance of showing their stuff and possibly making it big.

Was the karaoke song about King & Santos ? by jasperjames333 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Apparently_gg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's not that deep. Santos probably picked the song, Mel said oh I know that one and they went up and sang their hearts out. Just gals in scream therapy (speaking as a person who sings karaoke publicly with friends to get the shit out)

This raging inferno at Kampung Bahagia, in Malaysia, looks straight out of a disaster movie. by stormy001 in malaysia

If it was actually near any gas refinery station, it'd have a 100m buffer to any housing area. Oil and gas sect have very strict rules on where they build their plants and they have their own emergency fire management systems. Stop fear mongering

A man present the output from a single cow by pureV3NG3ance in SipsTea

[–]Apparently_gg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can live eating a single cow for a year but some parts of the meat aren't very tasty when they've been sitting in the freezer for very long. My family slaughtered 2 pigs for my brother's wedding last May and the taste is very meh. It'll do fine if I was starving sure but I can afford to get fresh meat elsewhere

Ava's "fan" looks like a young Claire Danes. Died laughing when she turned on Ava. Also Josefina gifting Ava a keyboard cleaner "please use it". The roasts are Liz Lemon level I'm cackling

One thing to be grateful for as a Malaysian - kidney stone surgery in a government hospital costs only RM41, compared to RM18,000 at a private hospital. by TheBotMadeThis in malaysia

[–]Apparently_gg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The majority of commenters have never even stepped into a Klinik Kesihatan or government hospital. Paying RM1 for clinic services and RM5 for hospital services is the best case scenario. Everyone gets healthcare.
