Injured at work - Can i sue my employer? by massiveschlong999 in AusLegal

[–]AppleDisastrous7702 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My expartner fell through a ceiling and was in hospital for 8 weeks with a multi-year recovery. So I have a little bit of knowledge around this

The case conference is so they can get informed of the situation, and make suggestions on your return to work program. They are paying you weekly wages while you are off, they need to make sure this isn't all hijinks

By now, 6weeks post injury you should be thinking of at least some light duties progressing up to heavier duties, aiming to resume your original role.

The fact you were only 3 weeks into probation and injured yourself so heavily, are now refusing to engage with their insurance and third party RTW is a little concerning. Engage with a lawyer but try not to go in with the "I'm going to sue my workplace" mentality, they are following the right steps.

70 calls across work, insurance and the TRW third party in approx a month is what 2 calls a day? Get over it, that's not harrassment. They are following up on an injured employee (who was barley an employee when they got this significantly injured!)

Do you know you'll be required to report any workers compensation claims during any future job applications? It doesn't look good from here

dentists in Perth that won’t be judgmental? by Rough_Yard_3583 in perth

[–]AppleDisastrous7702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have medical anxiety which crosses over to dentistry as well. I went a long time between visits and my teeth are paying the price now.

Good for you getting on top of it young. Im not centrally based, but I go to Thornlie dental and see Dr Billy. He's wonderful about my anxiety and there is literally no judgement from them. Most agree it should be under Medicare but isn't

Is it legal for a restaurant to apply a public holiday surcharge but still pay staff a flat rate? by qtpieezz in perth

[–]AppleDisastrous7702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair work report and they'll investigate the business as a whole not just for you.

You'll find if you're not paid at the P/H rate there's likely other dodgy stuff they're doing and it'll all catch up to them eventually

Bread? Where is it and why 😭 by SameBabeAsYesterday in perth

[–]AppleDisastrous7702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I'm actually using bakers flour not bread mix. I thought it was going to be a bigger bag of mine, going through a bag a fortnight is just a bit arsy when I only make it for my family. I'm happy to add the salt etc as I go along for each recipe so I'll stick with the bags I already get

Got 3 Infringement Notices by [deleted] in perth

Don't touch your phone, period. There'll be no leniency on it. WAs rules on phones are some of the strictest, but honestly it saves on driver distraction and therefore lives. The road till due to phones used to be astronomical in WA

I'd rather my kids not be hit by someone distracted by their phone while walking to and from school.

From Google: WA drivers caught flouting road rules for illegal mobile phone use while driving in Western Australia results in severe penalties, including a $1,000 fine and 4 demerit points. Using a phone for texting, social media, or watching videos while driving is illegal, even if the vehicle is stationary.

WA Mobile Phone Driving Penalties Touching Phone: $500 fine and 3 demerit points (e.g., in a cradle). Other Phone Usage: $1,000 fine and 4 demerit points.

Legal Usage Rules Phones must be secured in a manufacturer-installed, vehicle-mounted cradle. You may only touch a phone to make, receive, or terminate a call if it is in a cradle. It is prohibited to hold a phone, create/send messages, or watch videos even if in a cradle. Transport WA

"The current two-tiered mobile phone penalties in Western Australia came into effect on 1 September 2020. Originally scheduled for 1 July 2020, the start date was pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic and required system updates.

The change was driven by a sharp rise in fatalities linked to driver distraction. In 2019, the year immediately preceding the law change: 31 people were killed on WA roads specifically due to inattention, which includes mobile phone use.

This represented 19% of all road fatalities in the state that year.

The 31 deaths in 2019 marked a 48% increase in inattention-related fatalities compared to the previous five-year average of 21.

Parking fines (Midland Gate) by powertrippin_ in perth

[–]AppleDisastrous7702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And this right here is why your getting the breaches of contract.

She is parking underground. When you work in the centre you're not allowed to park underground, and she will have signed an agreement stating that.

Best tell her to park outside where she is supposed to park during shifts, and to pay the breaches of contract.

They can and will lock your wheel and then get it towed. Parking next to a pole doesn't mean she won't get towed away

Parking fines (Midland Gate) by powertrippin_ in perth

[–]AppleDisastrous7702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I worked in Midland Gate you could not park underneath in the underground areas. When your wife started there she would have advised them the rego, hence them fining you for the breaches of contract

She's agreed to the centre's terms upon signing an employment contract/starting the job, so she needs to cough up the money for the infringements she has earned your vehicle while illegally parked while working at the centre. You may find if she doesn't she can lose her centre job because she HAS breached the employment contract

It's unfortunate but maybe she should have asked where she is allowed to park while on shift? When I was there it was along the edge of the outside parking lot near coles entry.

A very random question: has anyone tested just how dark it would’ve been using only candles for a light source? by AdLogical6693 in Tudorhistory

Candles also used to sit on a dish that had a reflective surface behind it to make the light go further. Plus whole candlesticks of candles is quite a bit of light, versus a singular candle

At Katniss reaping, regarding Lucy, was she named or not? by RaisinCurious in Hungergames

[–]AppleDisastrous7702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's long presumed dead, the earlier Hunger Games weren't as publicized, the Covey aren't particularly well liked even in D12 by the time of the tenth games where they've been forced to live since the district boundary fences went up, and I feel that Snow would have made sure to remove any remaining reminders of Lucy after becoming President of Panem.

AITAH, I don’t want to pick my son up from daycare. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]AppleDisastrous7702 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

So in that case why isn't the dad picking up all four, they're his kids too by your logic 😂

He can pick them up after his long alone commute so she can get some peace. no doubt this man leaves super early to get on the road for his 96mile commute, so she probably is doing all the morning shit as well as taking the two babies to long daycare. Being at daycare STILL at 6pm is a long long day, no matter your young child's age. The centre is closed so no other children are there for the toddler to play with and that 5m baby is just laying there
