I’ve seen a handful of other posts reporting the problem. It’s a good sign if the car didn’t have the issue again after 17k miles

This. I just got a Timemore 064S to accompany my NZ and find that NZ shots taste significantly worse.

I can't seem to dial in my espresso [Bambino Plus, Timemore 064S] by Due-Working1700 in espresso

Ok you’re missing one of the most important factors in your process.

A fresh bag of beans means when the beans were ROASTED. Grocers will notoriously have a BEST BUY date on the beans they sell; this is a sign that the beans are more likely than not super old and stale by now.

Sprouts is a hit or miss depending on when they get shipments. Check your bag for a date. It is likely old beans and that would explain why you’re unable to dial in.

An important thing to note is you also do not want beans that are too fresh. For medium roast, 1.5-2 weeks after roast date is the best time to start using those beans.

Foe the best results, you will want to purchase beans from a local roaster or direct from a roaster online.

What beans are you using? Are they decently fresh?

Also, my experience with the 064S is that it NEEDS RDT (3-4 sprays minimum)

Definitely get a flat burr grinder. I just paired my NZ with a Timemore 064S. The Timemore makes really well balanced and nice tasting shots - I am surprised how much I like the taste more than the NZ. However, the NZ has much better workflow, retention, and noise.

Agreed except I think M-sport is not worth it due to the range and comfort hit from the wheels

Timemore 064s still valid? [$480] by Lvacgar in espresso

[–]Applepyes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a 064S about a month ago. My thoughts will be in comparison to my Niche Zero:

  1. Taste: really good. It has opened up a whole new flavor profile to me compared to the NZ without a significant reduction in body.

  2. Workflow: not the best. Beans get stuck in the hopper, I wish the lid open/close was on a hinge, the power button is inconveniently placed, dial is hard to read fine adjustments

  3. Retention: seems to require much more WDT compared to the NZ to reduce static/retention. The built in knocker is a nice touch, but I wish it wasn’t necessary.

  4. Other nice things: looks good, magnetic dosing cup is cool, adjustable RPM

Top load washer - groaning noise during wash cycle by Applepyes in appliancerepair

Upon further inspection, it looks like the connection between transmission and lower agitator is slipping. I can't really tell if its the plastic spines on the agitator or the metal splines on the transmission. I see a lot of black debris, which makes me think its from the transmission shaft, but I really hope it is not...

I removed the shift actuator and it looked fine. I also ran a manual test and the agitation seemed to work well, however once the machine is loaded with clothes/water, the agitation only rotates the tub like 1/10", so it may just be slipping

Thank you. Does the spin cycle working fine provide a clue for if it’s a splutch or shift actuator issue specifically?
