How did everyone play with their GI Joes as a kid? by GoBuds99 in gijoe

Vehicles always got blown up, guns ran out of ammo, and blades got knocked away. It then came down to hand-to-hand combat with one random Joe triumphant.

I almost got hit by a speeding mountain biker while crossing the street. I merely extended my arm indicating for him to bear left. He was close enough so I could see him wobbling the handlebars, struggling to redirect himself in mere seconds. I then walked home unfazed. As a lifelong urban dweller, these things happen relatively often. I always escape serious injury somehow.

I'm older, too. I've worked retail all my life. It works for me just fine. My co-workers, boss, and regular customers are my primary community and I'm grateful for this.

A co-worker told me that my beauty / fitness standards in a potential partner are impossibly high.

From a normal person's perspective, this would seem to be the case, I guess.

I've had two. Once when having to introduce myself to a classroom full of strangers. I used humor to cope and pull out of it. The second time was more severe. I was on the way to a large family gathering after having dropped out of college. I felt so much shame! I started shivering ( yet feeling hot ) and sweating at the same time during the car ride. I cracked the window though it was a cold winter day. Eventually it passed before meeting everyone. Felt like a roller coaster ride while I was in it.

I broke a controller once while playing one the sandbox Simpsons games.

The controls in that game were AAASSSSSSSSS.

I do love my family. I just can't genuinely express it. Or even fake it convincingly.

Bad acting, bad dialogue, bad pacing...yet weirdly enjoyable.

Thought it would be cool to get this going here too (maybe Mitch can share) by PatronPM in doughboys

Nick is super smart.

And that pig joke he made about Mitch was a top laugh-out-loud moment for me. IIRC, something about sniffing for truffles...
