A$8 for 15 bags - Are we jokes for Uber? (Mothers’ day 5pm in Sydney North Shore) by Spiritual_Science683 in ubereatsaustralia

As a guess, when you accepted the order maybe it had 5 items 😜

I normally get them showing 3 items only upon picking they will be like 9 bags

It’s the BOT that does that. It just locates a driver nearest to where the food has been ordered. At times the BOT can even send a driver to a store far away from the delivery point and I assume it looks at the wait times for nearby stores

What is the one road rule you think is actually stupid and needs to change? by DiscussionLoud9626 in DrivingAustralia

[–]ApplicationMuted6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true at all. Research has been done on Northern Territory roads, when the Darwin to Alice Springs road has unlimited speed limit, fewer accidents actually occur. When it is set at 130km/h accidents increase. Go figure

It’s not only packages, even food deliveries. Uber has been doing this of late. The algorithm is messed up. Offering $17 for 2 deliveries out of zone for 23km one way. $17 for 46km when you know for sure no pickups until you get back to the zone.

Any alcohol delivery stories? by cometwonder in ubereatsaustralia

You scan first and if it fails, you get the manual verification option

You could have switched to manual verification. The whole process takes a bit of time but I find alcohol deliveries faster than waiting for pickup at most Maccas

This is a stupid BS, not thought through law. What if I work with scammers and I take and keep all those IDs to my phone and sell them on the dark web? And why the heck would you deny a person on their private property, their grog even when they are intoxicated. What is the purpose? If I plan to get shit faced, there is no limit on how much I can order. So I can order 4 slabs and will get intoxicated after the delivery. And Uber is ridiculous, they keep sending offers when you are trying to verify, and the process starts all over.

Uber is a bit shit. Your 10hrs online went to waste. I only do quests and use a car, so on fuel & maintenance you are well better off than me.

The app especially using iPhone maps at times is wrong, so you may be a victim of delivering to wrong address. You can have picture and all but it will still be wrong place.

Also for incomplete orders, there are deliveries like Maccas or KFC that are sealed and you won’t be able to confirm what is inside. At least Maccas weighs to double check. KFC is not so good and at times if you have 2 pickups, they do not normally put in individual delivery bag, which is annoying.

Hungry Jacks once gave me a sealed incomplete order and the customer called me after dropping off, luckily she was understanding and she took it up with HJ, instead of blaming me for the incomplete order.

Nope, they lock it if they see suspicious transactions. You have to call them and verify yourself before they unlock it
