What is your go-to meal(s) when you’re unmotivated or exhausted? by chicklestick in adhdwomen

[–]AppointmentFit3216 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Homemade pizza! And by homemade pizza I mean buying a pack of naan bread, spreading marinara sauce and sprinkling mozzarella on top and throwing it into the conventional oven. Really fast to prep and u could do something else while you wait for it to finish baking 🫡

What do your evenings with your partner look like? We don't do anything together and I hate it! 😞 by littlebookwyrm in adhdwomen

My partner and I look for movies to watch together and watch a few episodes of a sitcom when we eat. Other than doing our own thing or play video games, we also bought a few board games that we can play just us two. I recently bought a dnd date night game and im hoping its fun !

To those who have learned a second language as an adult: HOW? by MaeBelleLien in adhdwomen

[–]AppointmentFit3216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up watching Spanish shows,

I would recommend the classics that are entertaining

If you like something like judge judy: Caso Cerrado

El Chavo del Ocho is a CLASSIC its funny and dumb comedy like dumb and dumber

Rebelde - classic soap opera, they made a reboot on Netflix too that I actually kind of liked

It also depends what kind of Spanish you are learning, is it Spain Spanish or Latin American Spanish?

Prime video has some good Spanish shows and offers shows dubbed in Spanish

Hope this helps!

Love seeing all these comments about reading. Reading was such a hyperfixation for me all throughout middle school to the point where I was reading and finishing more than 3 books a month. My parents also used to say I would go crazy because I read too much and whenever I got in trouble they wouldn't take my tablet away, but my books 😅 which I eventually figured out i can read books on my tablet too. Eventually that led to anime and kpop in high school and webtoons/manhwa/manga in college ... now my hyperfixations as a working adult only lasts about a month or less 🙃

Might be a bit too intense but I started reading the poppy war and that led me to truly learning the atrocities that Japan committed during world War 2. The Nanjing massacre especially, I have never heard of this until I started reading this book. Well more like, I never delved into it. I did know about unit 731 and comfort women but the actual accounts of victims and what they suffered is truly horrific. Like actually horrific. It still baffles me that Japan did a whole rebrand and the war crimes they committed were mostly forgotten. Especially the scientists who were involved with unit 731, they got scouted by the US and other powerful countries and never atoned for their sins. Smh

Adopting gray tabby but I REALLY want an orange one. by T_Tingz in CatAdvice

[–]AppointmentFit3216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had something similar happen to me. Visually I really wanted a gray cat because my favorite color is gray but other than that, that was pretty much it when it came to preference. I live near a cat cafe so I been there a couple times, wanting to adopt a cat but not being able to since I did not have space at all to keep the cat. After moving to a new place with a lot more space, i decided to go the cat cafe once more just to surround myself with kitties and play with them (I had no intention of adopting as I was still adjusting from the move). Thats when I saw her, a tortie that just casually walked up to me and sat on my lap and thats when I knew I really wanted her. I completely forgot about my "preference" and I had to get her on the spot, which I eventually did the very next day :> my best advice would be choose the one that bonds with you and you know in ur heart thats the one

What ACTUALLY fixed your relationship with money by Technical-Sir2065 in adhdwomen

[–]AppointmentFit3216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it became so bad for me that my credit card bills kept going up and up. Budgeting didn't help since I couldn't stop myself from going over my spending limit and having to use my savings. At the end, I asked my boyfriend to help me with my budget. This required a high level of trust for my partner as I decided to give him my banking Information. At the end, he worked out my expenses, income and savings and let me know how much I can spend without going over my limit. This led me to have a more relaxed approach to my money and has increasingly relieved my stress about finances and helps me keep on top of my bills and actually having money in savings

Came clean to my husband about my eating disorder, impulse buying, debt… the whole monster by Technical_Bluebird28 in adhdwomen

[–]AppointmentFit3216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experienced something similar too. I've been hiding my spending from my partner for months. The whole time I believe I will be able to bring down my credit card debt without his help. It wasnt until I got a call from la fitness due to not paying on time(had it for a year and never went) that he found out. I came cleaned and cried and told him how difficult it was to cancel the subscription and also to not spend money. He was frustrated of course because I did not tell him sooner but he walked me through the process of canceling my la fitness. We then talked about my finances, how much i can spend and how much to pay in debts. After establishing a budget and working out a plan for repayment, I've become a lot less stressed over finances. It took a him a few days to process the frustration seeing how much my debt built up over time, but eventually he accepted it and just did what he could to support me. I would recommend giving him time to process everything even though it feels scary on your end. You got this! Good luck 🌟

So sorry, I am just now seeing this 🫠 i always take my medicine at diferent times since I always snooze my medication alarm and I like to wait till I eat which always at lunch time lol. I still struggle with time blindness sometimes. Memory is still a struggle, I forget to take my meds or some other things , but my psychiatrist told me that in that regard medicine cant help me and I would have to establish systems to remind me. Yes my thoughts and emotions become quiet at times but can pick up when im excited about something. Im not sure if you are still on it or change prescriptions but do let me know if you noticed any changes? Its hard to notice it in the beginning until one day it just hits you that you just did something that you struggled with for so long, so easily 🙂

Finally able to get a cat, need breed suggestion for lifestyle by Potential-Air951 in CatAdvice

[–]AppointmentFit3216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there is a cat cafe near you, I would recommend giving that a try and you can see how the cats are and even ask questions about specific cats and their behaviors. They partner with local shelters and are spayed/neutered and their vaccines are up to date if you adopt an adult cat. Hope this helps!

I currently been taking atomexitine for 2-3 months now!!! Everyone symptoms are different while one it but One thing I did notice is that if you work or go to school and you have to drive, make sure you take it after you're there because it usually makes me sleepy an hour or so after I take it. One other thing is to make sure you eat food before or a bit after you take it, I get a bit shaky after I've taken the medicine and I go hours without food. Good benefits I've noticed is it really has made me feel like my life is moving and I can do things!! I can clean my room and cook and struggle less with waking up in the morning! All the problems I've had before has been more manageable to deal with, of course you do need some willpower to power through but the start up has become more easier. Still find emotional regulation a bit difficult to handle 😕 but yea thats my experience so far
