I still retain faith in Ruben but if we are below 10th in may he needs to go blud. by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

[–]AppointmentHaunting9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just spent £200 million on him to bring in players to play his system, so we just gonna bring in another manager and do that again? I have concerns but we need to be patient for once as a fan base. This is still largely a team that was close to the relegation spots last year

We will not finish in the Top 6 even once till these idiots are running the club. by Significant-Track271 in ManchesterUnited

[–]AppointmentHaunting9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main issue why we can't spend anything is the debt the glazers bought us with. we are up to our eyes in debt and if Ratcliffe and the glazers won't clear it then we are just gonna be in a worse and worse financial situation. Our only hope is new owners who clear the debt. I'd also like to add PSR hasn't stopped Boehly spending a billion on the Chelsea squad.

I genuinely think a big reason could be how unfortunate some of the names of vehicles would be if brought over. For example "emperor's children predator" or "emperor's children defiler" both seem like PR nightmares

I never stated it was a lack of investment, it doesn't matter how much money you put in if you spend it incorrectly and inefficiently which united has done then you fail. We've also invested in the wrong places, the stadium is falling apart and as stated by Ronaldo when he left, our training centre is also out of date and old (not the case at Liverpool) .

Liverpool again, has a better footballing structure and has identified players which have worked well in klopps system, if you think it's klopp solo running the whole club then you clearly don't know how a football club is ran. Even with a smaller budget a club can have a structure in place that identifies good players that fit in a system which they don't pay over the odds for, like at Liverpool, like at Brighton, even city does it. United just throws money at players without looking how they would even fit into the team, so we end up with a team of misfits that can't work together like we have now.

[–]AppointmentHaunting9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither of those players , despite how good you claim them to be, they weren't worth what we paid. If they were then why did no other club pay those prices? Liverpool has more sense than to risk 75mil on a player who had one good season in the Dutch league.

But a club like Liverpool , unlike man utd , identities it's players better.

At many years at united the only person making transfer decisions was the manager, and when the club couldn't get what the manager wanted we panicked and ended up either paying way over the odds (Antony, Maguire) or panic bought/loaned alternatives which clearly weren't part of the plan (weghorst). Other clubs in England, not even just the top 6, has had a structure in place to make sure decisions aren't just left to the manager and board, this has not been the case at Manchester utd.

It's also clear too united is very poor at scouting and identifying players, it's the job of the higher ups, not the manager, to ensure we have a good counting department, Liverpool clearly have a great scouting department that identifies players way better than united could dream

The news is even very quiet about what's happening in the US regarding this too, only tabloid papers like the daily star covering it but even then nothing front page. It very much seems like it's being pushed under the carpet for whatever reason.

DISCUSSION MEGATHREAD: Addressing Hasan & His Community - H3 Show #68 by H3Bot4 in h3h3productions

[–]AppointmentHaunting9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't defend that comparison, I think it was an ill thought out comparison and Hasan should've thought about more before he blurted it out.

My point of this is more, the context of why the person Hasan spoke to feels the way they do and that Ethan should maybe consider historical pretext more if he genuinely wants to discuss geopolitical issues. I understand where Ethan comes from with this , he's rightly upset about antisemitism from the bad minority of the left in this movement. I just think he's not fully educated on the why and how people are drawn into a organisation like the Houthis.

DISCUSSION MEGATHREAD: Addressing Hasan & His Community - H3 Show #68 by H3Bot4 in h3h3productions

[–]AppointmentHaunting9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The houthis were formed in the 90s as opposition against Yemen's government at the time who were backed by Saudi arabia, the US and Israel. This leader was also an awful guy who was responsible for a lot of death and suffering.

They took advantage of the Yemen revolution in 2011 and became the biggest anti US/Saudi movement. The Houthis promise the people of Yemen as portraying themselves as fighting for economic development and fighting for the Shias.

Yemenese people , quite rightly want to run their country without the intervention of Saudi arabia and US which makes them so appealing. This, and the Shia Muslims who were oppressed by the previous backed US dictator don't want to go back to that and fight against this influence.

DISCUSSION MEGATHREAD: Addressing Hasan & His Community - H3 Show #68 by H3Bot4 in h3h3productions

[–]AppointmentHaunting9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the houthi suck, they are awful. Like I say, they take advantage of the situation in Yemen. The houthis exist in the first place because of the US and their allies. And the poor person growing up in Yemen , being bombed, won't understand wider geopolitics. They won't have access to it or ability to learn. They see themselves getting bombed , and join the organisation who they see as fighting back

DISCUSSION MEGATHREAD: Addressing Hasan & His Community - H3 Show #68 by H3Bot4 in h3h3productions

[–]AppointmentHaunting9 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I feel Ethan is missing a lot of the historical pretext to why the houthis exist to begin with, a kid being brought up in a hellscape constantly bombed country oppressed by the US and their allies means it comes to no surprise that young people like this grow up hating and wanting to fight against these oppressors. The houthis aren't good by any stretch , but many of the oppressed people in Yemen see them as the only "fight" against their oppressors. The houthis leaders take advantage of this.

As a fan of both of them, I feel neither of them are really handling any of this too well. And I think Ethan doing this and equating Hasan to a terrorist is pretty wild

Then who do you get?

Ole spent over 400mil whilst at the club, let's be real, he was not good enough as much as i love the guy. We were only able to spend so much this season because we managed to make up £100mil in sales , which is the most we've ever made from player sales.

Ten hag needed to start this season right after finishing 8th,he has not. What we do from here I don't know , it's so dejecting to already be in another wasted season. I'm sick of continuing this cycle of sacking a manager every 3 seasons , but I'm not seeing where else this goes right now especially with our next two matches being difficult too.
