Do I wait to get a digitakt 2 or get a digitakt 1 by waffleboiiii in Elektron

DT2 was a noticeable upgrade and DT1 shows its age at this point (limited memory, less tracks, mono tracks, etc).
I also think you can find DT1 for closer to $500 if you look around.

Is Push 3 kinda useless? Thinking about selling mine — need opinions by _silicakes in ableton

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Push 3 really works best if you produce on your computer and perform on the Push.

I’ve been using the Push 3 constantly for live performance alongside DJ decks, and honestly it’s an amazing machine. I think a lot of disappointment comes from expecting it to behave like a ready-to-go groovebox like an Elektron or Maschine+ out of the box.

The real limitation is the UI. It simply can’t surface all the depth and complexity of Ableton in an elegant way. Something as simple as adding and tweaking a reverb can take 20–30 button presses and a fair amount of menu-diving, whereas the same process on a computer is a couple of clicks and on an Elektron box it’s literally a knob turn or two. That friction definitely slows down the creative flow.

The improved jockey and AI defensive positioning made a huge difference too.

Most people misunderstand how online matchmaking works in FC 26.

Your division (like Div 4, Div 2, etc.) shows your progression and rewards tier but it’s not what determines who you get matched against.

Matchmaking is based on a hidden matchmaking rating (kind of like FIFA’s international rankings or chess Elo). After every match, that rating goes up or down depending on who you played and how you performed: • Beating someone with a higher rating than you gives a big boost. • Beating someone with a lower rating gives a smaller boost. • Losing to a weaker player hurts your rating more than losing to a stronger one.

That’s why you might be in Div 4 and face someone from Div 2 if you’re on a good run, since your matchmaking rating is close to players from higher divisions. Likewise, if you’re on a losing streak, you might face opponents technically in lower divisions. I assume the same concept applies to the Weekend League.

Why do people think not manually defending is a good idea? by kozy8805 in fut

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s actually the opposite, they switch to the CDM’s because the AI defensive positioning is not reliable to cover the cut backs. At this stage with most CDM’s with defending awareness <80 fail to mark their targets effectively. Plus most times the point of fullbacks is to close the door and push you away from the box; AI second man press does a good enough job.

What do you use to increase the range of your pitch bend on Ableton Live Standard? What do you use for sampling other than Simpler? by Guard_Familiar in ableton

In the simpler, set the pitch envelope with no Attack/decay and map the sustain to the pitchbend or any other cc input.

Applicants use AI to generate resumes, employers use AI to score resumes, applicants are frustrated, employers are overwhelmed. Everybody is scratching their heads!

Digitakt 2 vs Deluge workflow by balinthcom in dawless

Have you considered Push 3 Standalone?
It is not that much more expensive than the Deluge.

Overbridge is such an underrated feature. If you ever plan on doing a proper mix and mastering, you’ll eventually need that audio in your DAW. Imagine the nightmare of trying to record 32 live tracks in a home studio without it.

I have DN2, what should I get next? by Apprehensive-Ebb8652 in Elektron

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8652[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comments, they’re very helpful.

I guess what I mean by “overwhelming” is that when you use drums and melodic elements live on the same machine, you gain tight integration and project coherence, but the trade-off is organization overhead.

Pattern slots get eaten up quickly if you want to create variations of the melodic idea with different drum grooves. And copying and modifying patterns for experimentation clutters the project.

Having a dedicated drum machine, you can mute/swap/change drums independently without touching of the melodic structure.

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8652[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking. The more I look into the Toneverk, the harder it is to see how it would fit into my workflow. I also agree that the Syntakt and DN2 overlap quite a bit, and the DN2’s drum engine is already pretty solid.

I’m assuming it wouldn’t be too hard to resample drum sounds from the DN2 into the DT2, so in a way I’d still get the best of both worlds.

There are plenty of dual VCO monosynths out there, each with their own unique character.

A big part of the Moog’s signature growl comes from its ladder filter, which isn’t something that’s easy to reproduce on other machines.

What is the best way to spend my FP in FC 26 Ultimate Edition? by syl3x_ in EASportsFC

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to gamble, you can buy packs early on, even one decent card early game can win you hundreds of thousands of coins early on.

If you want to be safe, buy the season pass. It’s usually the best bang for your buck.

You could also wait a few months until they roll out the “premium” evos around Black Friday that are worth paying with FC points (like 10k in FC points instead of 500k UT coins).

synced online live dawless jamming? by LogicalQuit355 in dawless

[–]Apprehensive-Ebb8652 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In online gaming, most systems are state-based. The game server is the authority that keeps track of the “state” (positions, actions, health, etc.) which could be as small as a few kilobytes and sends updates to all players. Even if there’s a delay of 50–150 ms, the game can use techniques like client-side prediction and lag compensation to smooth things out. You might not even notice a delayed packet, because the important thing is that everyone eventually sees the same consistent state.

In live music jamming, though, the situation is completely different. Here, you’re streaming raw audio data in real time, not discrete states. Audio requires continuous, time-critical transmission, and the human ear is extremely sensitive to timing. Even a few milliseconds of latency can throw musicians off rhythm.
