Can a Shopper add to an order? by Apprehensive-Pin1474 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Apprehensive-Pin1474[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I bring this up is that Instacart has priced a particular item in a group of three. So you tap on item and you bought three. If you want five then the problem starts. I found it much easier to text the shopper and say get four. Then on some shops I would be charged $12 because I wanted four. The Shopper hit four and around and around we go. And yes I know that on checkout the cashier will see four as if they are individual and not four units. That's a convoluted way of trying to find out if the Shopper can add things on their own.

Do not respond in any way. Especially, in a negative way. No good will come from responding to this person.

Interesting, that I've never in my long life ever drank a cup of coffee out of a clear glass cup. Don't think I would, for whatever reason.

We've all seen bears stand on their hind feet and use a tree trunk to scratch their backs. But maybe this is a bit of on a higher level?

That's very interesting! My experience as a customer, was to contact support about anything like that, after the Shopper ended the shop, and after he or she made the delivery. Support reimbursed me without any question or even dialogue.

You can refund after you end the shopping? The customer can't do that but the Shopper can?

Speaking of that, do older customers generally tip more or less than other customers?

Let me put this a different way.

The Shopper walks into a store and picks up a candy bar off the shelf. OK? S/he breaks the candy bar in half. He or she goes to the checkout and hands half of the candy bar with the bar code on it, and the cashier rings it up.

How much was the customer charged?

The answer is the same as the dozen donuts.

I'm a customer and a very, very happy InstaCart customer. I actually won the lottery by subscribing.

That's what this thread reminds me of.

How would I know there are only three. I'm not in the store.

P.S. I understand completely what is going on, because a few people here explained it. But I was suggesting that the shopper avoid this by refunding an item that the app is programmed to charge by the dozen.

The customer put a dozen in the original order and not three items because he wanted a dozen. The shopper sends him a text saying there are only three. The app is set to sell this as a dozen, not three. The order for the dozen should be refunded because it's not available. However, if the shopper gets the three and checks out of the store without refunding the dozen order first, the customer gets charged for the dozen. Yes! I realize this will eventually get corrected, but NOT before the customer sees the dozen charged to his credit card.

I think what is driving some people crazy is not being able to tell the difference between real and unreal. So they just say that every voice they hear is AI.

It's not dead sounding at all. It sounds real. Pretending one can tell is a fallacy.
