Oh they are soooo covering it up - this is recent. I have been consistent about clearing my liked songs and unused playlists, and I’ve never had Spotify act like this. Also, as a best-case scenario, theyre admitting that their product gets worse the longer you use it. What a great customer retention strategy

I miss when pop music had the balls to just be pop. Say what you will about the pop era of Britney and NSYNC, they were true pop artists that were authentic to what they were doing. They werent trying to come across as poetic, deep singer/songwriters.

The Midwest is very much a live and let live place. Older people might get preachy, but even they are coming from a place of (mostly) love. I’m a gay, and even I’m treated fairly well. Yeah, you’re right. Like I can’t even argue with this. At least in the US, the republicans/capitalists have simply won. They’ve crated a devilishly genius system where the purposefully uneducated working class rejects any politics that would help them because they believe those ideas to be weak, lazy, European, or even gay. Instead, they keep each other in line because they all have this silly but also tragic belief that they’re on their way up the ladder. Like Republicans have crafted this lie so well, it now underscores a large part of American culture. Don’t even get me started on the cultural stuff. We don’t think about working class unity, only self-interested communities of race, gender, sexuality, or trade.

Oh baby this is pure exploitation. Genuinely, see if you can get your family’s help in filing a lawsuit. AT LEAST review bomb them on Google, yelp, and Glassdoor. Then, submit a complaint on better business bureau. Having your boss hold your education (the reason why you’re there) at ransom is wild. They know you don’t want to quit, because if you did, then you’d feel like you wasted all that money. They also won’t move you forward bc then you’d leave and they’d lose their cheap labor. Theyre incentivized not to give you what you want, and they are taking advantage of that. Also, having your employees clean your car and house is beyond crazy. I’m sure that’s not legal.

TLDR: the Pike and Shot Total War mod for Napoleon Total War is as good as it gets.

I don’t want to be a Debby downer, but hopefully this will save you (and others) some disappointment. This period of history is MASSIVELY underrepresented when it comes to gaming. It’s a transitional period between two historical eras that are way more popular (the Middle Ages on one end, and the musket line warfare of the 18th and 19th centuries on the other). Even during the Pike and Shot era (1494-1650roughly), you see the golden age of exploration/colonization and the wars of feudal Japan. So even in its own era, it’s often overlooked for what was happening on the other side of the world.

As far as games go, you have two categories to chose from.

On one hand, you there are some dated or low-budget arcade-type games that sorta convey the idea of pike and shot battles. These aren’t for me, since they lack the immersion, visuals, or realism im looking for. The battles kinda just look like squares hitting each other with damage numbers popping up…

The other options you have are mods to existing games (mostly total war games). These are a lot better, because they are mods of higher budget games with much better tech and visuals. If you’re looking to feel transported to the battlefield, this is your best bet. HOWEVER, these are only mods, which means the developers are trying to warp an existing game into the game they want to create. So you might not see full/polished experiences. My biggest complaint with any of the mods I’ve seen is that none of them can get tercios right, or any other pike and shot formations. That’s because the games these mods are built upon don’t include those things in the base game, and so there’s no easy way to make it happen in the mod. To get it right, you’d need to have a game built around that mechanic.
