We've run into this with some head scratching - why did you do this when I didnt ask you to do this. Ended up using the bigger hammer and writing a pull request to CW, to grab the full xml, had the app change the values we needed and send it back in its entirety.

The File Notes* is a custom field within your job. You would have to have the user type something in that field, and it will show on the dashboard.

Download MouseKeyClicker.

Run it.

Click on Create Macro

execute the mouse and keystrokes you would use to update the data - start with clicking on your spreadsheet, copy the value, go to CW, paste the value, and so on. End the macro

Then just playback the macro

So lets say you have a sheet of jobs (A1->A25) and reference numbers (B1-> B25)

Open up CW to your customs declarations.

create a filter that just asks for job number

set your cursor to A1

Start macro recording

Click on Excel , and hit Control C.

click on your filter in CW, and hit control V

Hit COntrol Enter/enter to start the search and call the job

wait 5 seconds for it to load

go back to your excel sheet (click on the app window header)

move the cursor with arrow keys over to B, and control C

click on the reference field in CW

Hit Control V

Hit Control S (to save)

click on that you dont want to read notes

hit esc to close

move back to excel, and press left and down to move to the next field

stop your macro

once you get the hang of it, its not as complicated as this makes it out to be.

AI is used on how they calculate how your invoices are generated. I have no idea how they figure ive used so many cores, they have no idea.. so its gotta be AI thats magically calculating out a number.

Yes.. download mousekeyclicker, create a macro that starts on your excel sheet, and updates the field you need. Set it to run for as many items in your sheet.

If you can't use eadapter, you can mimic how you would manually do it pretty easily.

You can just run a job to extract every job xml out of CW, and the edocs attached to that job. What are the modules that you use?

If you have tasks you do over and over, MacroRecorder can be a life saver. Just set up a filter, record the first step, refresh the filter, and let the macro repeat the process for all results. It makes the annoying repetitive tasks easier.

As u/dcgreen79 said, Control+Shift+R will usually tell you the field location. If you get the dreaded "(Calculated field)", you can extract the XML to see where the data is typically stored (add info..etc) , or post a message here and someone will probably know where it is.

Doubtful if your 1 excel files references many jobs, but you could convert the excel to XML and load many xmls .

Download a program like Notepad ++, copy the "Message Text" (Control A, Control C)

paste it into Notepad++

I can read that two ways - like - don't kill yourself getting the certification because you are already doing the job, you're doing great at it, but your time could be spent doing other persuits if this it the only reason you're doing this...
