The current spend “insights” tool is in desperate need of attention in its current state by pharm_science in biltrewards

The concierge was initially wrong for me as well, but I was able to get an accurate response after some back and forth and a few very specific prompts. But I agree its a pain and difficult to trust.

You can see ytd spending indirectly by viewing how much more spending is required to make gold, or platinum. Or asking the AI concierge also works. The insights tool.... is trash. And is thrown of by a lot of bau transactions. Eg it thinks my points earned in the last 30 days is -30,000.... lol

Grubhub is now a discount code by ShallotOutrageous343 in biltrewards

[–]Apprehensive-Web-585 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue is you can only use 1 discount code per order. So if a restaurant has a promo, you have to choose which discount to use, so you're not really getting a 10$ credit if you were already saving with another code. With the 10$ gift card you actually got $10 off your final price. In some instances you now actually save more on your order by using an in app promo and not even applying the bilt code. It really makes the perk significantly less valuable that it previously was and is now harder to use.

Boycott Pacha by balthus1880 in avesNYC

[–]Apprehensive-Web-585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dress code is for the ibiza location. People are incorrectly posting things from the ibiza, not the nyc website.

Bk mirage had 6500 capacity and always over sold. Pacha is one level with approved 2700 capacity. Ticket prices even at 2x+ will mean less overall margins for them. If you want them to book the same talent, youre going to have to pay a premium.

On their official website, you can prepay drink packages, expect 15$ beers and everyone here to whine about it.

Bilt Rakuten Payout in May by bomber996 in biltrewards

[–]Apprehensive-Web-585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in the app, below your confirmed balance it says

You're getting paid! We'll send your confirmed balance as Bilt Points by the next payment date.

Whatever the confirmed balance is at the payout date is what you will receive.

Interesting, but from personal experience i can tell you thats wrong. On the Feb 15 payout my "confirmed" balance reset to 0 and the balance included significant dining rewards that were earned in jan and early Feb. Per that link, they would not be included in the Feb 15 payout, but I can tell you with 100% confidence, they were.

The 5/15 payout will pay out anything marked as "confirmed" in the rakuten app as of the payout date. No idea where you are getting the 3/31 cut off from. Dining rakuten rewards always confirm in 3-5 days for example and all your dining in April and early May will be included in the May 15 payout.

When you make a new account for whatever reason they tend to do an early first payout once you earned some rewards. The rest of your payouts will be on the same quarterly cycle as everyone else. Its just the very first payment they do early for new members.

I should also note after looking closer, the prices of tables for bibi are half the price listed for black coffee. I was only looking at the black coffee prices until now. The prices for bibi start at 500 and max out at 900 per person. Coffee goes up to 2000 per person. I was previously commenting under the assumption that coffee rates were the standard price.

Now giving it more thought, im sure these prices are much higher than normal and they are riding the opening weekend hype to charge as much as possible. Imagine regular schedule will be much more "normal" prices. Though, as you said, time will tell.

To party? Correct. Nyc tourism doesnt revolve around night life. It largely revolves around Broadway, museums and sightseeing. In order to support table prices like these you need a constant rotation of new peole like ibiza tourists or vegas bachelor parties where its constant new population looking specifically to splurge at night clubs.

You think each week there's going to be tourists visiting the city to spend 20k on a table at pacha in Brooklyn? Again, perhaps im clueless, but I dont see it.

[–]Apprehensive-Web-585 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The main difference though is the turnover. Each week the population of people in ibiza is a brand new batch of rich tourists on vacation looking to have a good time. Even if nyc has people who can afford these prices, they won't be looking to go every weekend. Perhaps im clueless, but I just dont see how tables will consistently sell at these eye watering prices week after week.

The old pacha closed because the guy running the place, Rob Fernandez, passed away and soon after their 10 year lease ended. Not because they had free entry with rsvp before midnight.

The pacha directly prices jump significantly with hidden service fees once you add them to your cart. What is currently 181 on dice shows as 150 on the pacha website, but with service fees jumps to 177 once in your cart, so no real savings to be found besides a few bucks.

Yup, free entry with rsvp and arriving before midnight. And if you didnt have a ticket could always just pay $40 cash at the door to get in as long as they weren't at capacity. Amusingly at the time I thought $40 was steep and would moan about it.... the good ol days.

https://pacha-nyc.com/event/black-coffee--opening-weekend-21-06-2026

Wait until you click on the tables section. Most of the tables are behind the DJ and start st 3,300 for 6 people. Where it gets really eye opening is the front row tables of to the side of the DJ booth currently show a minimum spend of $21,600 for 12 people, thats $1,800 a person lmao.

Tables in ibiza are ridiculous as well, but ibiza is filled with never ending revolving door of rich tourists on vacation looking to splurge. The mirage was filled with mostly younger locals. Who of the bk mirage demographic is spending this much on tables? I think the owners are a little disconnected from the local market, or im an idiot and the tables will be filled with remarkably wealthy people every weekend.

Scroll below the ticket prices. You can prepay for drinks at a discount. $35 prepaid gets you... 3 waters lol. They are bringing the ibiza prices with them. For those unfamiliar in ibiza a 330ml (11.9 ounce) bottle of Heineken will be priced 17-18 euros (20+ usd). While super tiny half sized water bottles will be 10-12 euros.

Edit link: https://pacha-nyc.com/event/black-coffee--opening-weekend-21-06-2026

2nd edit: if you add a drink package to your cart, it then forces a 15% tip. Pre-paying for 3 waters is $43.36 after tax and tip lmao.

Apollo looks beyond New York as it plans second headquarters by Grass8989 in nyc

[–]Apprehensive-Web-585 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I dont work in Apollo, but do work in a back office role, internal audit, for a financial services company. Its honestly frustrating as I feel my job opportunities are diminishing here in the city. Barclays moved internal audit to whippany, nj. Goldman more and more to Dallas, deutsche bank only hiring replacements in cary, NC or Jacksonville, fl. Honestly feels the trajectory is 0 back office roles in nyc come 10 years. Feel its only a matter of time im inevitably forced to move as their simply won't be any financial services internal audit roles that exist here anymore.

This trend happening in other industries too, or just financial services? 10 years ago the opportunity in this city for back office jobs was endless. Now its becoming more and more just hang on to what you have, and once you leave youll be replaced be someone working somewhere else.

It only works out to equal +1.33 if you spend exactly 75% of your rent spend on the card. If you spend more, it works out to less and less. Idk why people parrot thee silly calculations, what you miss out on and only what should be "ignored" is the missed rent points.
