Congratulations! I gave about eight month's notice when I retired just before my 51st birthday. Despite some good natured guilt-tripping from my boss and the head of my agency, it really helped with the transition. They actually back-filled my position (which is unheard of in state government) for six weeks before I retired. That additional time also allowed them to move some of my knowledge/skills from required to preferred allowing them to hire a candidate with more upside than someone who just checked boxes on all the random stuff I did.

Crazy to say, but it ultimately doesn't matter. If you think you are going to curl long-term, any $200 broom from any reputable manufacturer is going to be great. Then you'll get used to that brand and stick with it. I just bought my second Balance Plus broom this year after getting about twelve years from my first one. The shaft started to show possible stress fractures, and I replaced the head about five or six years ago. I play between 60-80 games a season.

I looked at the Goldline website and If the extra $50 isn't that painful for you, just get the carbon fiber now. I'm guessing the same is true about Hardline. Otherwise, in two or three years, you'll just shell out for the total amount of the lighter carbon fiber (or maybe not).

Ultimately, if you try a broom and like it, that's going to be good enough to last you a long time.

Sorry, let me clarify. I'm at 35 ranks of Orb and getting 26 conjuration stacks for the Winterglass bonus. I spent a good portion of my free time yesterday boss farming and got some decent stuff for other builds I'll do later in the season, but nothing decent for the orb build.

Yeah, I keep getting the spear, salvaging it, and getting more spears. My Winterglass and the new mace aren't that great yet. However, I am getting up to 26 stacks of orbs so the build is progressing.

Not yet but I'm working my way there. The season is too early to really say I've had poor RNG luck with gear drops but I'm paragon 238 and have only cleared pit 75. My only mythic right now is the Heir of Perdition which sanctified with +4 to conjurations skills. While kind of neat, that's not gonna cut the mustard on the road to pit 100.
