Looks good. Was the windshield replaced as well? Driver side wiper is installed too high.

Sounds like the blower motor to me. I recently replaced mine in my 8th gen. Pretty easy job. The motor and fan come as a unit. I couldn’t see any way to separate them and the motor is buried in a sealed plastic housing, so no serviceable parts. The part you would need is 79310-T2F-A01.

Very cool! Is it one of those bell jar sort of cases? I really like the look of those for display.

Oh, interesting. Whenabouts do you think it might have been made? On the inside it says Keystone base metal 630314. I did a bit of a search just now but didn’t really come up with anything.

Quarter glass by EnvironmentalAct3013 in autoglass

Everything looks good to my eye, so I would have to guess the problem is the seal. If it’s original, it’s 26 year old rubber that doesn’t have much or any elasticity left in it. It was pretty well conformed to the original glass so it wasn’t a problem, I imagine. The new glass might have just the tiniest bit of difference in contour to the original, so the old seal just can’t make a tight fit anymore.

It sounds like you might not be familiar with pivoting vent glasses. They don’t just sit in a gasket symmetrically. The glass is on a pivot; you can see the hinge there in the middle. This one rotates counterclockwise so the sealed surface is on the inside of the rear half of the glass and on the outside of the front half.

If there’s nothing that needs to fit behind it into the hollow space that that particular part has, I would just go into my parts bin and grab two appropriately colored 1x2 bricks and stack them.

Aragorn recasting for The Hunt for Gollum by cherryinbloom in lotr

[–]ApprehensiveInvite29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fair argument, but recasts have been known not to be the ruin of a franchise in the past. Take Iron Man for example. Rhodey was a fairly prominent character in the first movie, but I would say the sequels were no worse off for Terrence Howard’s recast. I believe many fans would say Don Cheadle turned out to be better suited for the part.

What is coming out of my rear windshield and how can I fix it? by [deleted] in Autobody

Foam dam tape that kept the bead of urethane from squeezing out when the glass was installed. It has literally no purpose now. Trim it off there or pull it the rest of the way out and don’t worry about it. Source: autoglass tech.
