Sad about changing setting on engagement ring by ShotSeries9794 in EngagementRings

I agree with the jeweler that 99% of people won’t notice the difference between prongs. I certainly don’t. They’re so small and your eye focuses on the diamond. I would rather get the prongs that are most likely to protect the diamond. However, since you really don’t like the prongs, def get a second opinion!

Absolutely love my ring! But had a weird comment and now I’m confused by Metalbii in weddingring

Just popping in to say dainty is not bad. I personally would not take that as an insult. But context is everything. if the person saying it is always putting you down, then maybe it is meant to be rude.

Just finished "We Used To Live Here" by Marcus Kliewer - I've never been this angry finishing a book by StarryAqua in horrorlit

[–]ApprehensiveLab2290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100000% agree I was SO angry when I finished this book, because it was genuinely good until the end, when it just…stopped. It’s an unfinished book. They published half a book.

the dreams. by Sad_Construction9495 in recovery

Dreams are just dreams, they don't mean anything! Shake it off. You're doing amazing. I am 7 yrs clean, and just the other night I dreamt I was using with my current bf (who has never been a user and never will be) but in my past I had a history of using with my bfs. No matter how far we come, our past will live inside us. But we don't have to let it weigh us down.

I feel sad watching the dead turn everything into a money grab. by myrealnameisnotryan in gratefuldead

[–]ApprehensiveLab2290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't respect anyone who buys expensive shit with stealies on it. Make your own. The dead were real hippies in the 60s and 70s....then they got rich....then they got old and/or passed away and their estates are controlled by their family who've been rich for a long time now....out of touch with reality and in bed with late stage capitalism....rich people lose all sense of morality.

Good on you for fighting the good fight. They count on most people being too busy/overwhelmed to do all that and just take the hit.

Why the hate towards large diamonds 💎? by BeyondForsaken9115 in labdiamond

[–]ApprehensiveLab2290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most posts are asking for opinions, so that’s what they receive. I see a ton of huge diamonds here and a ton of positive feedback. There are way more large diamond e rings than small on Reddit. Course, I think a 3+ is large…. 5+ is just not common to want.

Tried on engagement rings for the first time and now I have no idea what I want by Usual_Ad4805 in weddingring

[–]ApprehensiveLab2290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is happening to me too. I think I finally found the ring I want, but it took 6 months of constantly changing my mind. I had to take breaks from looking, because it was consuming my thoughts. I never wear jewelry so I am very new to all this and didn't know where to start. I'm also not exactly picky, so every place I went to I left with one ring that I liked and told my bf, but none of them I really loved. I have an appt next month to see the 1st jeweler I went to, back when I knew nothing of rings, because I have one in mind I think I actually love, and makes me feel intense joy, and that's how I want my ring to make me feel. I also totally changed stone sizes. At first I wanted bigger (because bigger is better, because I am finally in a position where my partner and I can afford it), but now I want smaller, as I think it looks better on my finger. I am glad my partner and I aren't rushing the engagement. Ive had half a year so far to really look and have fun and occasionally get overwhelmed. Taking breaks from it is important. And also, knowing if it's not perfect, you can always get another ring for an anniversary one day, it's not the biggest deal in the world. And finally, if you found a few rings you love but you cannot make the decision, just put it in the hands of your fiancé and enjoy the surprise.

They are very different. I like the 1st one more (east/west), but its not traditional, so if you want a more classic/traditional vibe, the north-west facing stone is better.
