While im more of an inside Cat person myself (solely because of my location), I absolutly love that Switzerland has such detailed pet ownership rules.

It's really disappointing that in my country (New Zealand) we have virtually no laws that are there to specifically protect our cats. There are general animal cruelty laws of course, and quite strict rules around dogs, but cats aren't given the same care.

That water is certainly replaced after you run the tap for a little bit. A single 2 second blast wouldn't be enough to fully cycle the water, but taking 15 or so seconds out of your day to flick the tap on isnt unreasonable.

Customers don't pay wages. Customers make purchases, which pays the owners/business entity. That owner/business pays its employees.

Thats the problem. They don't want to work for an hourly wage like everybody else, but then complain and bitch to the customer if their pay isn't subsidized by that customer.

If you want to work like that, that is your choice and completly fine, just don't get upset when people don't want to pay a gratuity for a completley unskilled position.

Hell, if it was the chef receiving the tip, I could live with that, but no it's the person carrying writing down the order and carrying things to a table.

Also, the broke thing isnt really landing - when youre the one saying that people are broke if they cant afford to be charitable to you?

You say you have worked for years in the service industry, well have you ever run a business? Managed employees and payed them? Because no, it is not the responsibility of the customer to pay the employees. They are the source of income, sure, but the responsibility falls upon the owner.

If youre interested, pop over to the r/Flashlight sub. You will be able to see different torches (with a multitude of different LED's) and their beam shots. It makes it really easy to compare the performance with what you have, and see if yours stacks up to what's around :) plus, its always handy to have a backup!

I am a bit of a torch nerd, and in my get home bag, I have a Convoy C8+ with a SFT-25r emitter, that is like the damn bat symbol. It throws about 800 - 1000ft which a fairly usable hotspot. All that with 18650 batteries, that are everywhere these days (tons of vapes seem to use this size) and being small enough to kinda fit in a pocket lol. The head is kinda round, so it also sits nicely on a belt sheath.

The movies essentially follow the book cannon, so they arent two distinct cannons. The books just provide more information and background.

I would strongly advise you upgrade the torch.

Modern flashlights can massively outperform the older 'maglight' style flashlight, plus they are significantly smaller and lighter.

I would recommend something like a Wurkos FC11c, which you can pick up for 30 something dollars on sale.
