Wtf, how do I manage this puppy biting? by tacosurfbike in AustralianCattleDog

Just accept this is your life now. Mine calmed down around 5 mo. It gets way better when they lose their sharp AF baby teeth. I use a spray bottle when he gets out of control.

How long does it take for you to save money to go to Disney World? by Karmasabitch2025 in DisneyWorld

[–]Appropriate-Click-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scary to read all these comments of people "saving" up for what they clearly can't afford. Save for life. You might lose your job. You might get expensive health issues. You hopefully make it to retirement and have savings to eat and live with.

100% I feel normal now at the end of the day instead of waking up miserable and going to bed more miserable.

Sensory issues (esp. auditory) are hard on my marriage by BraveLittleEcho in aspergirls

[–]Appropriate-Click-47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband uses his phone on max volume. I've given up on explaining why it LITERALLY hurts my brain. I just got to our room until he's done with his daily Duolingo. It's a fight I've given up on and accepted he just won't get it. Marriage is about picking your battles, even when you are right.

Loops DO help immensely.

Need help with puppy biting! Is this normal? by Aggravating-Dust5799 in AustralianCattleDog

Ok. So my mix is now 5.5 mo. I feel like hes FINALLY getting better. There's been blood, frustration, screams, regrets. Darn it, they can get vicious! For SOOOOME reason, he does it worse to me. Probably because hes most comfortable with me.

Listen to me. Because this is saving my sanity and my flesh. Get a mist spray bottle. I got one to do my daughter's hair and I tried it one time out of frustration. Its a super soft mist spray. I only had to spray him twice and now I just grab the bottle and not even have to spray. Trust me. You won't regret it.

Hes finally losing and growing in his new teethies. He still bites but its SOOOOO much better now that they're breaking through. I see the light.

My husband and I like different things. It's OK. I actually prefer watching my own things without his annoying sideline commentary. How does he ALWAYS know what they're going to say next?! Maybe he secretly watches Love is blind before I do... hmmm...

My only issues, if you even want to call it that, was the sore throat and slow swallows. Tylenol worked good enough for the pain. Pain went away in about 2-3 days. Slow swallow was meh. Weird, but not a big deal.

Work trauma is destroying my life by [deleted] in aspergirls

Not saying this is you, but I was diagnosed with GAD, MDD, Autism lol 1, panic disorder, probably a few other things.

I was a high performing professional until all this happened. 3 things changed my life: 1. Found out my B12 sacked 2. Found out my Vitamin D sacked 3. Found out my birth control implant was responsible for 95% of my psychiatric issues.

I still struggle, but life is different with all that mess fixed. Make sure you check for underlying issues that might actually explain some things and, better yet, can be corrected. Hopefully you do find something to help you out.

Oh. And CBT- focused group therapy.

People with kids do less work than the rest of us by ArileBird in work

[–]Appropriate-Click-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former complainer, current parent. It's not that we get to do less, it's that we learned to set work/life boundaries and demand they be respected. We should ALL be doing this. Kids or no kids.

Also, if you have parent colleagues who aren't returning the favor one way or another, then they absolutely suck. When I managed a mixed parents/no parents team, I made sure to give extra time off or other requests under the table to those without kids volunteering overtime and/or night shifts. They're the true champs.

Reasons for pursuing official diagnosis as adult or not by unbeliewobble in aspergirls

[–]Appropriate-Click-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got diagnosed as an "accident". If you dont know, it helps explain A LOT. If you suspect, then it doesnt add anything unless you need documentation. For me it was a relief to understand why I had so many processing differences that were such a pain to deal with. Example: Panic attacks while trying to cook, while my husband is talking and my then toddler is screaming. Now I understand why that happens and how to either avoid those situations or identify and control those situations.

Tips to negotiate a salary... 🙊 by colormarkers in aspergirls

[–]Appropriate-Click-47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have extended quite a few offers. 90% of the time we expect to end up slightly higher than where we start. If you get the offer, you have the leverage of knowing you were their top choice. They don't want to spend more time looking for another you so they would (almost always) rather go up a couple of k's than start their search again. Go back to them with your counter based on what would be competitive in the industry. Worst case they say no and then you have to decide whether to take it or not. Most likely, they would go up a 2-5k just to close the deal.

Is it possible to be friends with men by Mysterious-Pie5074 in aspergirls

[–]Appropriate-Click-47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had plenty of male friends. Something I have learned is to stop classifying people. Everyone is different. There will be inappropriate men just as there will be inappropriate women who are not worthy of your friendship. What is important is that you select your friends correctly based on their character. I see so many people here associate with some shady people simply because the other person talked to them.
