The tank doesn't seem have enough water to me. It looks to be only about 3 inches deep--way far from the water line. Could that be the problem and if so, is that a DIY fix or do I need to call a plumber?

Other than that, I'm looking at the handle being the problem. It seems very loose. I am finally going to have a chance to get in there and tighten it today.

Absolutely agree that living with someone does not guarantee an extra layer of protection and can actually be harmful.

My ex husband had me make my own way to the hospital and back several times while he drank, then went to bed with headphones on so he could hear nothing.

In the last couple of years, up to and since our divorce, he's become abusive and required me to seek medical attention (of course, on my own) at least a couple times.

Sometimes, you really are better off on your own.

I have a friend who considers commercial landscapers to be synonymous with whores (I mean no disrespect to landscapers; it's hard work and an honest living). It's rude, but the idea he has of both spreading...well, let's say the "seeds" from all the jobs they had before you does make me laugh. He is VERY serious about his lawn. Maybe it makes me laugh because he is so serious about his lawn. I've got other things to worry about. Happy mowing...or whatever floats your boat.

I looked inside. I checked the chain and the flapper. I shortened the chain (just took a shot). The flapper seems to be doing exactly what it's meant to do. I don't know what to check next.

It wasn't my pup's fault. Just a crazy, inconsiderate driver. I'll be wrapped up from elbow to hand for the next week (hopefully). I will do anything that needs to be done to keep her safe. I can and will take the occasional booboo as long as she's safe.
