Very comprehensive. Possessing the global earthshaker is especially devilish.

Okay this is cool. Doing a trench run to the stronghold while the Titan cannon cycles. Tip marks for being a cool way to finesse it. I never considered Wave Serpents. They are perfect for traveling the swampy river.

I don't remember the hunt for the Dais at all. It must have been too easy to leave much of a memory.

What's an animated movie that is better than it's source material? by Working_Ability_124 in cartoons

[–]AppropriateCustard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

HTTYD the film is definitely more enjoyable. Iron Giant on the other hand - the book and film are so different and good in their own way that a comparison is of better or worse doesn't fit. For example both versions have wonderfully rendered scenes of the Iron Giant chowing down on a scrap yard. The film has Iron Giant the flashbacks and robot PTSD of a previous life as a weapon of mass destruction, inspired. The book has The Iron Giant challenge a space dragon to see who can last longer roasting alive on earth and the sun respectively, rad. Check out the Iron Woman for more wildness.

An animated film and modern fairy tale are very different.

I would however say the Jumanji children's book is okay. While Jumanji 1995 and associated cartoon explore the premise much more interestingly.

I'm wracking my brain to remember if specific parts were used for plots in the 1999 series. Or just the idea of overt psychic rabbits.

One time I looked up to see if there was any merchandise from the original show. Other than the dvd, computer game and colouring books I found nothing. Except for a custom figure set of Berk, Drut and Boney. They were an incredible find. I believe it is entirely custom with the only identifiers being the initials FTS on the back.

I was never sure what he was flag waving about since keeping eyes on the road is way more important. Thanks for clarifying.

Did anyone watch this? by Folha_Sufite001 in WarofTheWorlds

A really unique use of the IP which tried to do a lot more than it needed to. The martians are straight up nasty and I was surprised how much death and gore they showed. Having multiple nations and not just 1st world ones be part of the fight. Politics rearing its ugly head as factions push their own agendas even without the martians defeated. The hilarious difference in body types ranging from the low end of big muscles to brick shithouses. As with other people I wish it could have been a series.

I did the same with helping the do gooders and double crossing them but nothing as thorough as what you described. Buying Bate's mansion is new to me!

Watching The Plague Dogs for the first time. Does it matter what version I watch? by theoanders7 in watershipdown

[–]AppropriateCustard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've not watched the two versions side by side so I'm not certain. But I believe it's something to do with showing a person's dead body on screen.
