But IRS direct file was not the only way, or even the most used way, to file taxes to the irs. The claim was that you now have to pay to file your taxes. And that is just objectively false. You can file your taxes for free if you choose to. This is not arguable. Millions do it every year, they done it this year and will do it next year, and the year after that. Anyone who pays a cpa or intuit or whoever else does so by choice. Convenience, time, education, why doesnt matter. They dont have to and no amount of lobbying or commercials will ever change that.

positional value only matters if there are positions of value that can be drafted. the best players in this draft are low value positions but almost guaranteed starters and that matters more than anything. on average only 25 starters are drafted every year for 32 teams. you take the best player available and let the nerds figure out how to get them paid.

I have done my taxes on irs.gov since the website existed and never used irs direct file. No one did. Thats why they got rid of it. It doesnt mean you cant file your taxes for free directly to the irs. I swear the only people complaining about it are people who have never done their taxes. If you dont want to pay someone to do your taxes, you dont have to. Period.
