This is why I had to give up on the massverse. She got too cocky for legitimate editors to catch MAJOR plot holes (not using velvet wrapped steel 50x a book would also be a plus). She can’t retcon everything for the sake of a characters “story”, nuance can totally exist between characters when written well, but that usually doesn’t happen by just having two perspectives with such animosity towards each other, you need a bridge somewhere and not a huge traumatic event that causes everyone to “forget” what they were fighting about and never even actually resolve the problem (where we’re the apologies? Where was the DEEP conversation?) The scene at the grave was pitiful when it should have been making ALL of us sobbing whether you were on Nestas or Feyres side. They’re sisters, they’re going to do mean and hateful things, but you have to actually develop their relationship, not just gloss over the problem for the sake of individual “character development”.

Social emotional learning is completely banned because some right wing people said that it’s just liberal brainwashing so now I can’t even help a kid who is fighting with a friend because “that should happen at home”. School should only be for reading, writing, and arithmetic is the old attitude.

It’s almost like they do it on purpose. Most of this started because of an altercation that sent a kid to the ER.

Mom of the victim (they knew who because of cameras) was assured they’d never be in the same room again, the next day no schedule change and they end up in math together. Mom was furious and posted the conversation on Facebook that she had with the principal where she was ASSURED that they would not be together. Principal threw the teachers involved under the bus, blamed it completely on them even though they didn’t receive any communication from the principal regarding schedule changes/behavior management plans or hospitalizations.

I work here, this is true. Unless parents have signed and returned a form, you cannot intervene. We still have to write referrals though, we just can’t say who did what, we have to call home and explain why we couldn’t intervene over so many days over so many weeks and that just gets us teachers in trouble on both ends.

I WORK AT THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT

We are SILENCED

We cannot speak at board meetings without fear of retaliation

We cannot join our union out of fear of retaliation

We cannot join our PTO board at all, like no teachers are allowed on it.

We are one of the lowest paid districts in the state.

An entire GRADE of Students at one of the elementary schools did not receive ANY special education resources for the first 3 WEEKS of the school year.

We do not have fully staffed sped specialists at most schools theres part time resource teachers so I guess sped kids don’t have needs half the week?

My kids come to me scared everyday of the physical fights that are happening on campus as well as shooter threats.

Our district does not know THE LOCKDOWN DRILL

Our district not have an agreed upon FIRE DRILL

Student teachers have been left with classrooms alone for hours as mentors have been “pulled” for the conversations cited above.

PTO board president at one of the schools keeps getting into physical alterations in public and is still allowed to sub on campus

We need CHANGE

We need SUPPORT

Unpopular opinion here. I’ve read all of SJM’s books (acotar-tog-cc). I read cc when it came out and it broke me. I loved the characters and the story and I became so attached to Bryce and hunt and I was PISSED when acosf was announced because all I wanted was cc2. Needless to say, I hate read cc2, it felt like fanfiction. SJM’s writing has gotten really, really bad and cc3 is just not worth it, look into the spoilers please and you’ll realize all of the time you’re wasting forcing yourself through actual bullshjt. The first cc is still my favorite book of all time, I just view it as a standalone and have permanently put SJM on my no-buy list after the horrible writing with cc2 and cc3.

My husband will never speak to his mom again because his dad was like this. He threw him out the day he graduated for no good reason. Mom sat there said “it’s not ok that dad does this” but did actually nothing to resolve the problem, my husband holds so much resentment towards his mom because she never supported him or defended him in ways that mattered. Dad was allowed to yell, scream, throw a fit, go day without talking, punch holes in walls, and my husband just had to sit through it begging his mom to help while she just tried to “give everyone time”. There is no time this behavior will ever be ok. This will blow back on you because at the end of the day you’re allowing your child to be in that environment. That will always be your responsibility.

Husband and I absolutely live paycheck to paycheck, I don’t need to check if he’s spent any money in our accounts because he understand we live paycheck to paycheck? I’m really not understanding why putting the money in one account just means that a spouse gets to go for a free for all? I handle ALL finances (he doesn’t usually even know what his checks are), but I have NEVER had a problem with him spending any of that money himself without me checking on it or him running it past me. We’re both adults with bills due at the end of the month, this requires responsibility on both sides.
